RTF
Is it just me or has this year been lousy for bass fishing in the northeast ? Our water temps never really got to were they needed to be for the summer and took a while to get where they are now. On average 70 and below has been the norm for 2008. My lakes I fish for bass never really produced the shallow weed beds that usually unfold for the summer.
Texan_Til_I_Die
It's been fantastic here in Texas! If you're right about the lack of shallow weedbeds, it may portend problems for the future. That's where most of your fry go for protection, and without the shallow cover, they're easy prey for the larger fish and other predators. Shaun_300
Yeah it's been very slow up here too! We had a really crappy summer for weather, hardly any sun and cool temps, so the weeds aren't worth a crap this year. Water temps are still in the upper 60s-low 70s. I think they were over 80 last year at this time. We've caught some nice fish, but they are pretty hard to come by!
