has anyone hunted the area around sterling city tx in the last few years???

I was Quail hunting out there back in February. I will be Dove hunting around there in a couple weeks.

has there been a good amount of rain this year im goin in early dec and have had some real good hunts when the concho river has some good water both for turkey and deer

I hunt about 40 - 50 miles north of there. In general, we've had 2 good years in a row. Decent rainfall and mild winters without much snow. We had a somewhat dry spring and then average rainfall in June and July. But it's rained a bunch during August. Deer numbers are up and antler development is normal or slightly above normal. Of course, a lot will depend on the management practices and any supplemental feeding programs in place on the ranch you're hunting.

we hunt a vast area of land all around sterling city i was not able to last year but my sons did and had a great year a 163" and a 147" in the concho river area i had another fried that said he saw a monster buck back in yhe canyons but was to far to take a good shot at we have lots of sopplemental feeding done year round so hopefully we will have a great year thanks for the info and have great year
