I got about 55,000 miles on them in seven years, and they need to be replaced. The traction on these tires are great! But I just got off the phone with the place who put them on. $200 PER TIRE!!! bluelund79 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Share Posted August 28, 2008 Owned nothing but BFG's (Mud Terrains) on my last 3 rigs (Jeep CJ, Ford Ranger, and current Dodge Ram). WOn't even think of another brand with the wear I get from them. 50K is the usual with my driving habits, and from a MT, that is fantastic. There are not cheap, but they do last...As with everything, you get what you pay for these days, and with my family riding with me, I better trust my brakes and tires.... Had a set put on our 4wd yukon, and I was not really very happy with them. They did not last long either. Longest lasting tires I have had on a truck have been michelins, and they had the best ride too. Next set of tires on my 3/4 ton truck, which will be here pretty soon, will be a set of goodyear wranglers. Sams club has about the best prices on them I have seen. Shaun_300 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Share Posted August 28, 2008 Yeah tires are expensive! I just priced out BFG All Terrains, LT265/75/16 for a truck my dad might be buying. $210 each my cost! That's not installed (which is free obviously for me. ) I have Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country tires on my truck, it's not 4x4 though so I don't need the big lugged tires. They seem to be pretty good! Great traction in any conditions, and I was very pleased with the tread life. I think I had 45,000 miles on them when I sold my truck and they still had quite a bit of life in them. My new truck came with Good Year AT's on it, and I've put almost 50,000 miles on them and they are getting pretty bald. I really would like to put another set of Duelers on there, but they dont offer them in a 20''. I've also had good luck with BFG A/Ts. Bridgestones, Good Years or BFG's would be my 3 picks. HUNTINGMAN Posted August 28, 2008 Report Share Posted August 28, 2008 I went just last friday and put new tires on my durango,I had a set of khumo all terrain on it and they were good as the khumo m/t's I had on my dakota.I replaced them with a tire that is a company I have never heard of called federal.The federal couragia m/t I put on last friday are super agressive and make a lot of road noise but I like them so far.Now if we could just get some rain to make some mud holes I could really tell something about them.They were not to expensive at around 600$ a set of four,I think the web site is www.federaltire.com. We couldn't keep these things on the shelf. Ranchers would come in and buy extra sets thinking they would go off the market. Gravel roads around there would literally chew the rubber off of them and these guys would come back and buy the same set. But its the initial drop of cash that hurts! :rolleyes: I just wanted to see what everybody in here likes and what they are using. I need to start shopping around before archery opens! I've had good luck with coopers as well... will most likely be putting a new set on before winter comes. MUDRUNNER Posted August 29, 2008 Report Share Posted August 29, 2008 I have a set of 35" Mickey Thompson MTZ's on my pick up.They have a pretty aggressive tread and are fairly soft.Great for driving through the soup and decent on the road.Mine are about 50% worn, so it looks like I'll end up getting about 35,000 miles out of them.I had a set of BFG's about 10 years ago and they weren't that great,but they must have made some improvements over the years because they are a pretty popular tire, and 50,000 miles is pretty good for a set of truck tires.I think my next set will be Pro Comp tires.They are a little pricey, but if you get them at the right time they have a buy three get 1 free deal. Wow, they sure went up in price! Not sure what I want now. Hey Life, Check into the Firestone Destination M/T's, I put a set on my 1/2 ton about 3 months ago. I think I got the whole set mounted and balanced for about $750. I know it sounds high, but look at the tread pattern, awesome. The guy that sold them to me is a family friend and he said as long as you keep them rotated all is good, and I'm assuming that you drive your truck as much as I do, about 2-3 days a week now that gas has went up. Mach1 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Share Posted September 3, 2008 Running BFG ATs in 265/70/17 on my F150 Supercrew. Cost a shade over $900 installed about a year ago. Great tire and haven't affected my gas mileage at all. Went through some deep mud during duck season last year and it didn't even struggle and they were throwing mud everywhere. Funny thing is, that she works in the accounting department for Cooper Tire. She went in to interview and the last question they asked her was, "Do you have Cooper Tires on your vehicle?" Wisconsinboy Posted September 5, 2008 Report Share Posted September 5, 2008 i just got some dick cepek mud country tires on my f-150. i love them there awesome in the mud, quiet on the road but kinda expensive. paid almost $225 a tire after i got them put on. before these tires i had cooper discovery stt, i also liked those tires, very good in snow mud and everywhere else, not very loud on the road, i got about 60k miles on them. My cousin bought them for his Silverado a few years ago and they are hardly worn. They were from Walmart, not sure what the price was.
