wtnhunt
Yep http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76152. Think things will be very interesting. Watched on fox news earlier today when McCain made the announcement. The Obama camp wasted no time attacking her questioning Palin's qualifications, she has more executive experience than Obama.:D

Flintlock1776
Awesome choice. He outflanked Obama bin Barrak for sure. She has 5 kids one with Down's Syndrome just born; Governor of a state; former Ms Alaska (and still looking HOT!); Life NRA; Conservative; Pro Life and supports the Death Penalty. Wow. If McCain keels over we get our first female President. Hilliary must be chocking on her cheerios this morning! A perfect ticket. What did Obama bin Barrak pick? A veteran inside political hack who foreign diplomacy skills may be like the rest of the Dems that apologize to our enemies about how sorry we are that we are better then them? This will bring the women to the GOP side for sure:D
BowtechTurkeyHunter
This will bring the women to the GOP side for sure:D If they come to the GOP side just cause of that ... I can't say as I want them ... there more to it then just the persons gender ... A lot more. Steve

Strut10
She may be "all that and a Happy Meal" as a person and a politician. But her selection was pure political suicide for McCain and the GOP. .............of course, that seems to be what they do best most of the time. FireStrut
McCain did a good job in picking this woman, she gets my vote. She hunts, fishes and is a babe what more could you ask for.

Don't give John too much credit. I'll guarantee you it wasn't his first option, the GOP might have had to help him with this one.
Flintlock1776
Man, just look at all those liberal Dems now that they have been outclassed. Women will vote for a woman regardless. 18 Million of them want Mr. Hillary Clinton after all................
johnf
My wife talked to 3 different women at the grocery store tonight that are jumping ship and voting McCain. She didn't even know them, they approched her about it. I think Palin is not only a good political move, but I think we will see her in the Whitehouse at some point. I welcome it. This is REAL CHANGE.

Romney would have been a safe move for McCain Chris, Romney probably would not have helped McCain win the election though. Safe is not always the best choice. All indications Thursday mid day were pointing towards Romney. I seriously think that this new energy and excitement around the McCain/Palin ticket will surpass the hype around the Obama phenomonon and be able to carry long enough for them to win in November so long as they play it right. Obama's speech got less attention today than probably anticipated and the news of Palin was all over, so that in effect put a bit of a damper on the close of the DNC when the dems should have been riding on a high. Palin is more attractive to the conservative base that McCain had problems with and Palin is more attractive to women voters than any other perspective candidates that McCain had on his short list. The argument that Palin is inexperienced is a losing argument for the Obama/Biden ticket anyway you look at it, and it will be interesting to see how far Obama might try to push it, a Biden/Palin debate will be very interesting to say the least. I am sure they are digging, but what else really do they have to beat her up on? Unfortunately the media will try to put their twists on this, but think even still McCain/Palin will win in November and Palin will possibly have a further future in presidential politics. snapper
I like her bio...but I'm a little more nervous now than I was about Obama winning. I'm with Strut on this as well...will vote for McCain/Palin...but I'm not convinced she was the best choice.
bulldawg
I agree with Strut. I'm feeling let down by this. She has great qualifications, but this just opens the door for Billary to possibly get in next term. Especially if McCain doesn't make it through the term. If mayhem takes place again during the term, if they get elected, Billary will be right there in 4 years to pick up the pieces. Just my opinion, but I'm really nervous too about the whole matter. Washi
I think she was a great pick. She will do more for McCain than any of the other people he could have chosen.
JJL
Come on in off of the ledge guys !!!!!!!! Palin is PERFECT. When O'Bama chose Biden he neutered himself. All of the talk of change and then to select a VP who's been in Washington since NIXON.......1972. If McCain had selected some typical Washington type he'd have matched him with stupidity. By selecting Palin, the Change mantra, has shifted to the GOP as well as many votes from the disgruntled Hillary supporters. Don't get me wrong, I'm still voting for Alan Keyes. But, this was brilliant by McCain. "Your in Check Mr. O'Bama."
Strut10
dream on...:p:D you just got hit with the liberals nightmare, and your man is going down the drain. You are right, Steve-O that my man is "going down the drain". But you're on the wrong track. I'm voting for McCain. The Palin VP selection sunk his ship. The dems will crucify her youth & inexperience..............and rightfully so. McCain's age will be a factor in this race. His natural life expectancy will expire in office should he be elected. Who's going to want a whippersnapper journalism major with one year of executive experience (in a highly unpopulated state) jumping into the driver's seat of the most powerful position in the world should something happen to McCain?? Not me. Political suicide.

Not me. Political suicide. Palin has more courage in my honest opinion and more executive experience than Obama and Biden put together. I really do not see her having any trouble being able to give directives from the most powerful position on the planet in the event that McCain does not serve his full term. Think the fact that she has risen and proven herself in the manner she has says an awful lot for her leadership ability. It is about time a Washington outsider was picked to shake things up and put our reps back to work for us as it was meant to be, and I can see her being one to do just that.
