dbHunterNY
The other day I went and bought the Hunter Safety Systems Pro Harness (the mesh one). I'm 6' and about 190 lbs and it seemed to fit really well. My first impressions were pretty good. I was skeptical about sending the money, but the functions and features are worth it. It has deep pockets and other zippered or velcro pockets. The zippers don't seem very durable I'll admit. It is a ton faster and easier to put on than the harness that came with my treestand. Overall I'm happy. Just thought I'd post this for informational purposes. - Dan
Swamphunter
Do you know if it is lighter than the camo reversible one? I just sold my camo/rev one because it felt a bit heavy. I like to feel as light as possible when hunting because in a days time, we can switch from sitting in the morning, to mid morning drives, back to sitting until dark. Other times I go up a tree with my summit at first light, and my feet don't hit the ground again until its dark. Depends on what my plan is for the day. snapper
Funny...while at Sportsmans Wharehouse last weekend...my brother and I were looking at all three versions. Tim was there and we discussed some serious issues about falling and wearing/not wearing any kind of belt/harness. Any rate...I decided to get the mesh one as well. Haven't gotten it yet because I need to try on a small/med vest to see if it fits better. I'm 5'10" 170lbs and the large just seemed a little big. They all seemed to weigh about the same...I'd say the mesh (Pro series) was a tad lighter, but not alot. The weight of these vest are their only draw back. dbHunterNY
I'd agree with Snapper. To answer Swamphunter's question, the construction of both those vests are the same, except one is made of partially mesh and one isn't so I'd say the weight difference is minimal. Swamphunter
I emailed HSS and got this response regarding weight... Hi Ken Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, the Reversible Model is heavier that the new Pro-Series Model by almost ½ lb. More than the weight difference, is the Pro-Series’ ability to release your body heat thru the mesh material and also the ability to receive the slightest breeze during those hot days. The Pro-Series also has extra pockets, a grunt call holder and gear loops. The safety features are all the same. The differences in the two models are the hunter-friendly accessoriesIf you have any further questions, please contact us again. snapper
Huh...1/2lb...I wouldn't have thunk it! I'm hoping to go somewhere this weekend and try on a small/med. I'm running outta time, and if I know me, if I wait to long...I won't get it.
JDAWG
I just bought the pro series last week. It was tough to shell out the dough, but safety and comfort in the tree are important.
snapper
I just got the pro series as well...I didn't have a tough time spending the money...feel like its worth it, even if I don't fall. I ended up getting the small/large vest. Since I'm 5'10" 170lbs., I was close to either size vest. The small/large fit better, since most of my stand hunting is done in archery season...figured I wouldn't be wearing alot of thick heavy clothing. Guest 4everbowhunt
I purchased the pro series vest myself in April and other than the weight factor I like it.I stand 6 feet tall and weigh 185 pounds and I bought the L/XL vest which adjusts down to fit me for warmer weather hunts.I do a lot of bear hunting over baitsites and this vest so far is better than anything else I have and I also like the ease of putting it on.I'll have mine on again tonight as today is the fall archery bear season opener here. pointing_dogs_rule
I have had the pro series and love it. This year I broke down a purchased the linemans rope ($37). It was hard to payu $37 for a rope, however, it has made life so easy when hanging stands (not to mention how safe I now feel). Very easy to use. $37 maybe very cheap compared to a broken leg or back. good luck to all the dog

AdvantageTimberLou
I have the Pro Series and the only enhancement I would like to see is those velcro pockets become magnetic pockets. No clothing for hunting should have velcro on it. They are a great vest to wear though. I love mine!!
JDAWG
I think I'm going to by the quick connect strap and the life line from HSS as well.
fly
I brought this up a month or so ago and decided to go with the HS tree stalker. I have had a time getting a large vest to my local Cabela's store in St. Louis. They told me today it would be ordered and in the store wihtin 10 days. (My promotional cash card has to be used in the store). I've heard the mesh on the pro harness can get caught on the bark of some trees and the price difference is significant. I tried the small treestalker vest on and it seemed very light. I just hope the large isn't much heavier. Ken, you're right the reversible vest seemed surprisingly heavy. More than just a 1/2 pound. hoosierhunter
I bought the lg/xl and I'm 6'1" 220 lbs and it seems to fit perfect for early season, but late season it will have to go under the garment......
Flintlock1776
I think I'm going to by the quick connect strap and the life line from HSS as well. Good choice. The lifeline deal is really great!
fly
I finally got my treestalker harness from Cabela's last night. It's light and fits very well. I can't wait to put it to the test next week. It was on sale in the Cabela's bargain cave (on-line) last month for 59. When it came in last night the going price was 79. I brought in the printed page showing it on sale one month ago and they honored it.
