another goodby to new orleans??? it was rebuilt to cat. 3 standards. we'll see how it holds up

This time a mandatory evacuation order was made. Anyone lingering after that order will be arrested. Sounds better but there are folks who do have no means to leave and folks who don't care about being arrested. New Orleans was supposed to be built to handle a Cat 3 before Katrina. Katrina did build to a Cat 5 but hit as a Cat 3. If Gustav hits as a strong Cat 3 or makes Cat 4 it could be an atomic bomb on New Orleans.

The Evacuation Order was made yesterday. 230,000 people!

My brother and sister (along with her kids) were kicked out the condo they were staying at near Orange Beach FL yesterday morning at 10am. It took them almost 9 hours to make the normally 4 1/2 hour trek back to Birmingham. My other brother is remaining with his wife and kids in Gulf Shores AL. The mandatory evact. area is only one mile from his house. The storm appears it will hit far west of him. After Ivan reamed Orange Beach and Gulf shores a couple years ago the area is more storm worthy. I don't blame him for staying, especially being on the eastern edge of the predicted area.

Send prayers for those on the coast please.
