1997xltlimited
I was looking at the sts string dampeners, can anybody give me some info on these? It would go on a hoyt xtec. I just got my bow tuned and the guy told me it would be a good buy for my bow. Can anybody tell me a good place to buy one.? I would need one that can mount on the front because there is spot in back side of the bow for this? Any input would be appreciated.
BowtechTurkeyHunter
keystone country store would be a good start ... are you sure there isnt a spot in the back to mount it? Steve

Guest limbhanga
I just put one on my mathews... It will mount on the front or back screw hole. My bow is twice as quite. A++ rating on sts. Get one at Gander mountain.
Straight Shooter
I'm a firm believer in the STS, especially sine I just got three bows this spring with them installed from the factory. I can't believe the difference int he feel and sound of the bow. I would recommend these for any bow can have one installed.
clicker
Not only does it make the bow quieter but if you wear a bulky coat it will keep the string from slapping your coat sleeve.
dbHunterNY
I just put one on my mathews... It will mount on the front or back screw hole. My bow is twice as quite. A++ rating on sts. Get one at Gander mountain. Yea you can get them at Gander Mountain. I bought a Tech Hunter Elite bow there and it came with one that was mounted behind the riser. It seems to work very well. I have nothing on my string for surpression, but my bow is still pretty quiet. - Dan
arrow32
The sts is a great system but I'm thinking with that bow it will go in the back not 100% on that tho.
EKYhunter
STS is definitely a must have accessorie. If your unsure, go to a pro shop and shoot your bow with a STS installed. You'll buy it. They do work as advertised.
Leo
On my bow the STS is even quieter and the bow is faster without the string suppressors. Removing the extra weight of the suppressors helped the STS work better. At least it did on my bow. Suppressors are one of those things that get torn up over time. Frankly, I'm glad to be rid of them. Do make sure you put a little serving over your bowstring where it hits the STS. It won't make it work better but it won't be so hard on your string either. The STS can be mounted in front or behind the riser. Personally I modified mine to attach to quiver holes on the side. I've got really big hands and the block on the STS in front of the riser touched my pinky. This made the bow really torque sensitive. Moving it to the side worked really well for me.
