Darron
The spot we hunted wasn't even a picked field. He had an overgrown field and he bush hogged it down. Out in the middle of the field was a gravel lane and the doves were dive bombing the gravel lane. We could have shot another 3 limits if allowed. They were everywhere. While we were hunting the farmer was cutting a corn field for silage about 1/2 mile away. We'll be in there shortly:)
Tominator
Doves, and most all birds for that matter, need grit to help grind seed they have in their crop. They put the grit in their gizzards which is where the seed is ground up. Sounds like you guys found the preferred grit place for the doves. Texan_Til_I_Die
I had a good opener too. Five of us hit a small sunflower field about 3:45, and by 4:45 I was finished. It took me 20 shots to get my 12 bird limit. Better than my usual 1 for 3 average.

Hardwood_HD
awesome! my opener was horrible.. i guess they broke the tracter and couldnt mow the rest of the field and there wasnt hardly any doves in sight, i ended up with 4 birds..
