jm23494
The PA rifle season ended last weekend, no horns to show for it. Late archery opens up the day after Christmas and runs for about 2 weeks so maybe I'll be able to get something to upgrade the doe. Good luck to everyone and hope everyone has a good Christmas! Adjam5
I struck out the last few days of muzzleloading season. The deer are well spooked and sightings are few and far between. We did a ton of drives and none of them proved successful. NY's deer season closes today at sundown. Good Luck to all who still have some deer season left. arrow32
There tuesday night I went out with the ML and missed.LOL This doe walks out right before dark at about 90 yards and I got open sights. So I pull up take my time and shoot. So much dang smoke I couldn't see what happened or not but anyway walk up there and with the snow on it didn't take to long to realize I had missed. Season is getting to an end here very fast I'm not giving up but dang its been a long year this year. Great season tho I've saw atleast 20+ different bucks if not more and could have shot multiple bucks. I have no complaints on my season. arrow32
Okay my last day ML hunt. Three saturday morning I decided to go out to a my uncles farm instead of the one I've been hunting at the most. I went out and got in the hunting shack we built a couple years ago. I'm sitting there haven't saw a dang deer then all the sudden here come 8 doe running as fast as they can about 6 yards infront of the shack. Needless to say no shots they wouldn't stop running. After that I didn't see a thing in the morning. Had a few things I had to take care of so I headed out of the woods and went to the house. That evening I'm walking back into the woods going to a different spot I know that is good. I wasn't to far from my spot and a see a doe jump thought crap just scared that one. Then a seconed later a good buck jumps up and runs out of there like a bat out of he!!. Good 8pt man would I a liked to get a shot off on that bad boy. Anyway there you have it that stunk. I'll be hunting throughout this week as much as I can trying to put some meat down and points on the board.
jm23494
Merry Christmas team, hope everyone has a great time with their families. Our late archery season opens up Friday and we have about 10" of snow on the ground at home right now with more on the way this week. I'm going to try out a new spot where I think the deer have been funneling into a corn field throughout the day. Hopefully I can at least see some horns this year. mrswtnhunt
Just checking in on the team. Happy New Year everyone. Hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday. I have to work but am going in later in the morning so my hubby (wtnhunt) can go hunting. He still hasn't gotten anything this season. My daughter got a doe during the youth hunt and I got a buck during ML season. Maybe he can put a little more meat in the freezer for us. With the economy the way it is going, we are going to need it.
