Looks like NE MO and SE WI are having the same great weather patterns. The fun at work ended, so the hours are back up....Only have enough time to waterfowl in the am's...Going to hit some tree stands this weekend to make up some time. Good luck to all....Did find some new public land within a reasonable drive that has almost zero traffic on it....With how bad my season has been with other "hunters", this could be a blessing. Did some scouting on it, and the "trails" look like cows made them....Unfortunately, it is most ground blind area instead of tree stands, so I'll get to learn something new as well.....Eric

Finally seen my first deer in almost a week... i seen a deer to the south of me, so i decided to do some does bleats... deer stopped and started looking... eventually moved off, or so i thought... about 3 minutes later the deer came out directly infront of me... that is when i noticed it was a small buck... maybe a 4... if that... i let him pass... and that was it for him... while later i seen 2 big doe and a little one... never came close enough for a shot... not to long after that seen a decent sized buck, no idea how big... he too never came close enough for a shot...

scored on a deer this am... what i thought was a smaller doe turned out to be a button buck... oh well, its meat in the freezer...

had the deer come to me from the south, was about 25 yards out when i shot... when i hit him, he didn't flinch or anything... arrow did a complete pass through and it didn't phase him a bit... he walked about 20 yards and expired! i waited maybe 5 minutes... got down and walked over to him... i was talking to my dad on our radios, telling what i got and what had happened... when he cut me off saying he had a buck heading right to him... 2 minutes later he called me on the radio saying he had a buck down!!! it ended up being a 5 point... i was really psyched that him and i both got a deer on the same day... overall a outstanding morning!!!!

gonna enter the deer within the week... gotta get ourselves those 5 points!!!

Awesome, 2 more deer down. Haven't taken the needed time to devote to bow, mostly quick am trips for ducks or pheasants. If they had teams for that, we'd be in the lead for sure. But with the work times being jacked, should be able to make some early bowhunts this week, the motivations is all from you guys scoring as well!!! Congrats. Going to hit some new areas as I turned in a poacher today from yesterday and don't want my truck screwed with at my favorite area...But thats another post down the road. Eric

A fun night in the stand....

Congrats on the doe!

Kevin sorry about the lay off:(....but the time for hunting is good...:o And yep if it cools off on Thursday like it is suppose to the end of this week and weekend could be a great time to be in the woods.:cool:

Last night(11-3) I had an awesome night in the stand....Despite 70 degrees I felt like I HAD to go. I sat in a small draw between to recently picked corn fields. I had my primos scarface decoy out and was hoping for some action......WELL I GOT!! I saw a TON of deer Several bucks and lots of does. I had about 3 different bucks come into my decoy....The best was about 120 inch buck....He came in and gave me a GREAT show....he snort wheezed at my decoy....he was nose to nose with it...pawing at the ground! ALL at 15 yards!!:cool: It was amazing. But I elected to pass him....:o

I have all of next week off and I am hoping for good things then.....:cool::cool:

If I have any luck, it is definitely bad. Busted a deer on my way into the stand to start. Had a slick head coming down the trail, then some pheasant shooter procedes to go Shock and Awe in the adjoining field, good bye deer...Then 3 more knuckle heads decide to puch the bedding area looking for cluckers as well, busting 2 more out....Day ended before it began, then work has onloy been worse from there....Too stubborn to hang up the bow, but it seems no matter where I go, there are idiots everywhere. Whatever happened to common curtesy on public land-if the parking lot has vehicles in it, go to the next one......I really need to get my lawsuit finished so I can buy my OWN land....Had literally every hunt wrecked or severly altered this year....Good luck to all, Eric

Well guys action is picking up in MO!!

Hunter all weekend and saw LOTS of buck. Rattled in several. Just nothing I want to shoot.

I did see a shooter tonight but he was hot on a doe at the other end of the field. I have all week off to bow hunt. Saturday starts MO rifle season so Saturday I will be trading my bow for the gun. I am off Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday too so hopefully I will have some good luck.

Good luck guys!!
