Bowtech_archer07
Only made it out 3 times this weekend. Tonight was the only time I saw deer. I saw 8, 7 does and 1 buck. It was getting pretty dark when they came out into the alfalfa that I was overlooking so I didn't get a good luck at the buck. I think he was a borderline shooter, but not sure. He had a pretty big body though. Hopefully he comes back out next weekend, but a little earlier. It was extremely hot here this weekend with highs soaring into the mid to upper 80s everyday and lows only down around 60-65. It was very much above normal and the hunting was really difficult. There is supposed to be a cold front moving in Tuesday so hopefully that will help the hunting next weekend. Good luck to all!!
PAhunter14
Went out Sat. for first day of in-line and saw a nice 8 pt. but early muzzleloader is doe only. So i'll be back out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with a rifle because its the junior hunt. Good luck everyone.
bulldawg
Good job on the doe, nj. I went out for 2 days with the bow up north, and saw zilch. Then, I went out for the T-Zone hunt, and saw 1 spike opening morning. Didn't see any deer the rest of the doe hunt. I'll go north again in a week or 2, and try again. PAhunter14
Was out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thursday I did'nt see a deer but watched a bobcat kill a squirrel so that was pretty cool. Friday I saw a few does but could not get a shot off. And Saturday it rained all day. Bowtech_archer07
Haven't been able to go out and hunt a lot here in the last couple of weeks. Been busy with work. Saturday morning, the 25 was the only time i've seen deer, although, like I said, haven't been out much. I saw 6 Saturday though, all does, feeding on a cut bean field. It was cool to see deer again. It cooled off a lot this weekend, supposed to warm back up here in Central IL over the weekend. Highs in the 60s during the day and lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Things should start happening soon. I'll be starting to hit the horns together and try grunting this weekend. Hopefully I have some luck. I haven't had a deer in range since I missed that doe opening weekend.

ilhnter
Congrats on the buck. I've been going when I've been off work, but no luck yet. Haven't been seeing to many deer so far this year, but I'm off all next week so hopefully the rut will be kicking in and I'll see some deer movement. Good Luck everyone! Bowtech_archer07
Congrats nj!! I went out and saw a lot of deer this weekend, missed one Sunday morning. She came in at 23 yards and I had about a 4-5 inch window to put my arrow through and hit a tree. Saw some rutting activity as well. Hopefully it will stay cool and next weekend will be rockin. ccwhitey
Congrats again nj. I went out this weekend, but didn't have anything that I wanted to shoot walk in front of me. Just had a couple of little bucks with the biggest being a 130 class buck. I will continue to rack hunt until after our shotgun season then I will hunt for meat. ilhnter
Well team, I killed a nice 8 pt this morning with my bow in Illinois. I missed at 6 pt around 7:50, and then this nice 8 pt came by at 10 yds around 8:45 and I didn't miss. I'll post pics in a bit when I get them loaded. Good luck everyone. Bowtech_archer07
Congrats il, that's a great buck!! I had a rough weekend. Weather was good Friday, and didn't see a deer. Saturday was cold, windy, rainy, sleety, snowy, and everything else. Miserable weather, but I did see a smallish 6 pt w/ a forked brow tine. I wasn't able to make it out last night, but went out this morning, 25 degrees and clear, thinking I would see a lot of deer, caught a quick glimpse of one running thru the brush, and tonight I didn't see a deer but did see 4 longbeards. Hopefully gun season next weekend will treat me better!

ilhnter
Yea, I know what your talking about. We have seen very little movement and what movement we have seen is little bucks. He was the first buck of any size that we have seen moving. I'm with you, I hope the wind lays a bit and next weekend will be good for shotgun opener. Good luck everyone!! Bowtech_archer07
I hear ya il. I was on the way up to school today and saw a 3 yr old scrub buck tending a doe. She wasn't moving at all and he was staying within 10 yards of her just standing there alongside the interstate. I hope it stays cool-cold and they're talking like it's going to with a possibility of snow flurries/showers I think next weekend. Hopefully I will be able to make it home from school to hunt opening morning as I haven't bee able to for 2 yrs because of college. Also, Dad and I went out Saturday to clear a spot to hunt from the ground for next weekend. We got shooting lanes cleared and got it brushed up pretty nice. We also saw 10-15 rubs in about a 200-300 yard radius. Most of them were small trees, but a few nice rubs and big tracks. It's looking good, hopefully I can connect on a nice buck! Good Luck everyone!
