I should have nailed that six pointer last weekend! I got construction in the mountain to my east, logging to my west, and motorcycles to my south! I cant get a break this year! Not to mention there is no mast crops holding them around either! Last year you couldn't take a step and NOT step on an acorn! I guess its time to head NORTH! Alway had a deer hunting paradise there! MUDRUNNER Posted November 10, 2008 Report Share Posted November 10, 2008 Brutal weekend for me.Pretty weel upper thirties all weekend with 25-30 mph winds.I put 10 hours on stand Saturday and 8 yesterday and seen pretty well ziltch.I had a doe and fawn and a forky come in at seven Saturday morning and that was all for the whole weekend.I seen zero rutting activity and I guess the strong winds had the deer all bedded down tight.I might take off a day this week and give it another try. I'm orginally from Wyoming County... northwest of Scranton 45 minutes. the dog I am hunting Dauphin County, PA. Scranton is about one and half to two hours north of me. I've gotten out a bit finally-I passed on a 150 plus 5x5 last week maybe i shouldn't of huh lol. Well right now I would have giving me eye teeth for him! MUDRUNNER Posted November 14, 2008 Report Share Posted November 14, 2008 I took off work yesterday to bowhunt.Seen three does in the morning, but none came into bow range. My buddy got a 130 class 8 pointer though. I'm taking off work next Thursday for bowhunting and shotgun season starts up Friday so I'll be up there hunting for 4 days. After climbing a wet tree yesterday and slipping down about two feet! Which scared the daylights out of me, I thought its over for archery for now! Time to get the 270 ready! superguide Posted November 16, 2008 Report Share Posted November 16, 2008 Hung my mulie tag up this year-guess I'm getting a bit fussy lol. We rain into a buddy who I used to be the 4H leader for. Ty and I pushed a couple bluffs for him and another guy and got their mulie tags filled. MUDRUNNER Posted November 17, 2008 Report Share Posted November 17, 2008 I tried again yesterday morning with no luck.Right before daylight a pack of yotes pushed through the bedding area and ran all over the ridge i was hunting and must have run all the deer off.Hopefully next weekend i'll do some good.
