rad_112176
Hey Steve, I hunt mainly in Jefferson County on Rend Lake ground and we have a lease in Palasky County. How about you? Bobby
rad_112176
Hey guys. Scored on a decent 10 pt this morning. Seen an ablsolute giant but he was at 45 yrds and i didn't want to take that shot. Debated on taking this guy, but he was just too good a buck to pass up. I will get him posted later this evening for points. Going to head to IL to hunt tomorrow.

NS whitetail
congrats rad I came back from camp last night, heading back this evening ( can't hunt Sundays here ) I saw 13 deer in the first two days of the season, yesterday afternoon, I had 3 spike horns out to me at once. They are below my standards ( for now ), still got lots of hunting days left.
BuckNrut
Great buck Rad! Not having much luck here guys. All the fields in my area are still standing corn, so the deer are dispursed. Relocated one of my stands in what looks like a great staging area on the edge of a thicket separating a wooded hillside and corn/bean fields. At least they started combining while I was on stand last night.
rad_112176
Thanks guys. Keep sticking it out. Them bucks will be coming out of that corn and hiding areas as soon as the rut kicks in. Have been seeing a few deer in IL, but no shooters yet. I did take some time to hunt with my little brother and was able to get him a nice 6pt in MO. The bad thing is big brother forgot to push the record button so we didn't get it on film like we were hoping. We are planning on hunting together for the rest of the year so we can get a hunt on film. Hopefully we will have one to show this weekend since we have a good cold front coming in. We are shooting to get him a buck around 110 and i won't shoot anything unless it can make it to 130 range. Good luck guys and keep us posted on how it is going. BuckNrut
The weekend is shaping up for ideal whitetail hunting; "chance" of rain, cool, winds from the sw. Haven't hunted the spot I plan on going to in two weeks. Historically, the bucks like to chase does right around my stand. Won't be trophy hunting though. Bow season is winding down, and I haven't filed any tags yet. School work has to take priority as well.

rad_112176
Hey guys, Looks like all the bucks are starting to search and some are starting to chase. I don't know if some of you read my thread in the bowhunting section, but i had shot at a very nice deer earlier in the year while in Kansas City and was not able to recover it. Two days later i shot the decent buck that i posted earlier. We tried all we could to find the buck and thought i had jumped him at one time while looking for him. Well, i recieved a call mid last week from my friend that said he had found my buck. Below is a picture of him. We called the conservation and had them come and check the deer so i could use my second MO tag. We had to get them involved since in MO you are only allowed to tag one buck before gun season, but i wanted to use my tag so i could enter him into P&Y. We finally scored him last night and he scored 158 3/8. I feel truely blessed with a friend that would find my buck for me and then do everything he did to help with the DNR so i could tag it. I guess this is the story of the one that didn't get away. I will get some side shots of the rack so you can see his tine length.
NS whitetail
Hey guys, I put an 8 pointer down for the team on Nov. 4/08. Pics are in the deer room and entry thread.
rad_112176
Hey NS. Congrats on the buck. I just got back from our MI deer camp. We tried a new location this year and it was horrible. There were more people running through the woods than running through Wal-mart the day after thanksgiving. LOL. We still had a good time though. So we have talked Dad into going back to our past spot and just moving his blind somewhere new. LOL. I am hunting Dads land for the next couple of days here, but don't know if i will take anything smaller than a decent 8. Had 8 does come by this evening but nothing was following them. Hope everyone is doing good.

BuckNrut
I might be earning a new nickname for myself; SLACKER!! Actually, school has been demanding, but we have a long weekend. Last Saturday, a bagged one regular size doe (120 lbs), and one super-sized doe (170 lbs)! The freezer is full with extra meat to give away. Here's a pic of the larger doe. I'll be posting in the entry thread in a minute. Best news, I guy from school has transferred a DMP to me so I can go out again tomorrow and do it again!
