well team i killed a doe friday afternoon w/ my bow and an good 8 pt yesterday w/ my muzzleloader..i will post pics soon

Congrats on the kills. Can't wait to see the pics :) Sounds like one heck of a weekend.

Unfortunately for me I have had a hard time getting out this year.:( Between school and having to hunt public land since we lost the land we hunted that last few years (the guy sold it). It's really tough hunting state land around here, especially when the closest is around 40 minutes away. I'm trying though. Gun season is coming up quick and I am already pumped for our trip up to the U.P. :D Then muzzleloader season is shortly after that and runs a couple weeks.

First off, sorry I havn't been updating. Don't worry though, I havn't forgotten you. I started a new job, and moved to a new town. I've also been hunting hard. So far I passed on a bunch of does and some small bucks, but there's a few weeks and three tags left. I'm in a new area, right in the middle of the season, and I'm still learning where to hunt. Here's hoping I don't actualy get skunked for the first time ever.

Well guys it all came together for me this morning! After hunting hard the past few weeks I was able to put a big eight on the ground! I have over 200 pics of this guy and it's a great feeling to put him down. If you all remember, I stated that my goal was a P&Y this year and I got it done. Pics and story will be soon to follow....

This morning was good to me. With that hour earlier wake up I wasn't sure when the alarm went off, but I managed to roll out and get in. Ver overcast and cold this morning. Nothing was moving until 7:30 when I turned to my southwest and saw movement. I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a rack and grabbed the bow. As he closed in to 40 yards he turned and I saw the spread and immediately knew he was the 8 that I have about 200 pics of. He went behind some trees and I drew without standing up. he came out the other side and stopped. At 30 yards I let the arrow fly. he did a monster mule kick and ran about 45 yards and looked back. He had no clue what hit him. Then his tail flicked and a little bobble and he ran off and run a tree down on the way. That's when I knew he was in trouble. At first I thought I hit him a little far back, so we gave him 1:30 hrs. When I recovered the arrow that blew straight through him and stuck in the log I knew we were golden. It was covered in bright lung blood. after trailing him for about 100 yards I had my prize... This is the biggest buck I've killed with a bow and my second biggest overall. It's been 4 years since I laid my hands on a buck like this and the wait was well worth it. I couldn't be happier. He will be on the way to the taxidermist very soon and be the 3rd one on the way...even though I know there are two bigger ones out there, this guys was one I just couldn't let walk. We figure he will dress at about 180 lbs and be 3.5 years old...GL everyone else, but this hunter is tagged out on bucks and now it time to slam a few more does....

Here he is....

Congrats on a great buck Hoosier!! He is awsome. I finally connected with a buck last night here at my parents house. I got to my stand at around 1:30 and just as the sun went over the horizon I saw this buck out in the picked bean field and he chased away a smaller buck. Then he went back into the woods and I lost him for about 5 min. All of a sudden i saw a doe come running towards me and he was about 25 yards behind her chasing her. They cam crashing into the woods and I got them to stop at 25 yards and i let go. I will put up more pics when I can because here at my parents place they can only get dial up and have an old computer so it has taken me over an hour just to load this one pic and stuff so when I can get to a faster computer I will put up more pics. He has 19 scoreable points and was 240lbs field dressed

Most gangs and ourselves included weren't seeing many deer this past week. So when I bagged a 118 lb doe on Tues afternoon, after she woke one of the other guys up. We figured she'd be it for the week, until I shocked myself and got this nice 11 pointer late friday afternoon.
