Just got word that we may be heading north in a couple weeks for muzzleloader season. My dad wants to go, and he had me call a friend who works as a forester for Michigan's DNR, so he basically lives in the woods. He is suppose to be doing some scouting for us up there.

I am having some trouble with my bow right now. I have custom strings from bucknasty over on AT. I emailed him some pics of some things on the string and cable that didn't look right, he is getting me a new set as soon as he can. Top notch service and a great guy, if you are ever looking for new strings, Bucknasty does a great job and backs up his work ;). Anywho, I am done bowhunting for now or at least until I get the new set and get them installed and my bow re-tuned and sighted in. :o

Well I think I wrapped up my season this morning. I killed my 4th deer of the year. This was with the muzzleloader and kinda fun. She entered the woods at the same place where I walked in at and smelled me then picked me off when I turned. She flagged and started to run but for some reason she stopped to look at me again somewhere around 130-150 yards out and that was a fatal mistake for her. I slammed her right in the front shoulder and it was over for her. Took half her heart straight off, not split, just gone! She was a nice one at that going 130 lbs on our home scale dressed....I'm shooting a Traditions Pursuit XLT with 250 grain TC shockwaves. This is th second deer I have killed with this gun and load and the load specifically is brutal in terms of devestation. If you haven't tried these bullets, you might want to....

Only a few more days left here. Last day to hunt is on Thursday. Had a big rain storm come in last night and melt the 6+ inches of snow we had, along with the mid-50 degree weather we are having right now. I'll be getting out at least a couple times this week, supposed to drop back down to the mid 30s/high 20s Tuesday and Wednesday. Going to hunt over a cut corn field and will hopefully get a shot at a doe.
