Griz
I'm still here... Still working like a dog trying to get stuff done so I can go into the hunt mode once season gets here...LOL I'm pretty much open to what ever name yall want... I was heading across the ranch this morning and caught a big non typical mature buck standing in a field with 2 smaller bucks and several does and fawns... This guy is a stud. Puts the buck I got last year to shame... I have never seen this buck before around here. After sitting there and drollin and watchin' him I can't wait to get on him... Bad news is, the wind is wrong in that area. So I'm going to have to come up with a game plan of some kind... Season opens in the morning and I'll be hittin' the woods first thing. Can't wait... Good Luck to all... Griz...
Chrud
I've only been out once. I did see a couple deer, but no where close to within range (about 500 yards ). Probably no hunting for me this weekend, we have a 2-day racing special. After Saturday, racing is done for the year and I can get back to the woods. TexasDeerHunter
I may go ahead and take out a doe Friday, heading down to the hill country on the 10th to try for a buck. Good luck to everyone and God Bless.

Griz
I have meat in the freezer now... I was able to stick a big ole Doe at 12 yards. She field dressed at 92lbs... Well Sat. I'm out for a evening hunt. At about 7pm. there had to have been about 30 hogs that were feeding along a trail. I ended up shooting one at 15 yards. The group of hogs ran up and stopped at 25 yards where I was able to thump another one... I did see the buck that i'm hunting. From what I saw he has 18 points with about a 4 or 6 inch drop and a bunch of stickers. I'm going to say that he's at lease 25 inches inside and pushin' 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 years old... I have never seen this buck here before. I have 3 trail cams up hopeing to get a pic of him... He's a dandy that's for sure... Well I'm off for a morning hunt... Good Luck yall... Griz... Cybertech_hound819
well guys and girls i have 2 things of bad new. The first one is that i shot a doe in Florida last week but none of the pics came out for whatever reason. the second is that i let my temper get the best of me at dinner the other night.Well the girl i had been seeing decided that she wanted to go back to her ex. not the diggest deal in the world but a little up set. well me and her new bf have never gotten along in the first place. well we had a few clients up 2 days after i got back from florida so we went to dinner. well when we got there this girl and guy were already there. i walked in the door and he said somthing to me and it got me a little heated. well then a little while later her got up and went to the bathroom, you have to walk by my table to get there. and when he walked by he slapped me in the back of the head. and called me a few names that didnt need to be said in a public place. well he rann in the bathroom and hide of a min. i didnt even move but when i hured the bathromm door open i was on the run befor he even got half the way out i ripped him out of it and started to beat his head in,. well in the prosses my father and one of the clients that i have knwo for a while grabed me and somehow i got hit in the shooting eye. so now my eye is so swelled up i cant open it. so untill that is gone no more hunting. Also im trying to punish my self so i wont do anything hunting for a few days. So i apoilgive to all of you for maybe killing the score of this team by me acting stupid. Straight Shooter
It looks like we are the last one with a name to be posted for our team, how about the "Bone Hunters" or if someone else has got a name let's get it in to have it posted as our team name. Good luck to everyone, I've got four more days till I can get into the woods and then two more weeks until my trip to Ohio.

Straight Shooter
Well guys, I am about to give up on bowhunting. My season has to be one of the worst I've had in over 10 years. I had a small eight I let walk on Friday and two does that wouldn't present me a shot on the first morning and then that evening, I had dogs running all in the woods the last hour of evening. Saturday morning, I was full draw on a upper 130's to low 140's 9 point at 10 yards and couldn't get a shot on him, I had a maple tree branch in the way and I wasn't going to take an iffy shot on him. He came out to a scrape and brought his head to a licking branch and then we proceeded to look at each other eye to eye. I needed him to take two more steps and he was in the clear, he couldn't take much of me looking at him so he blew and bolted. that evening I had three Does come out and waited on one to get broadside, in the mean time a squirrel is raising cane, getting them more nervous than they all ready were from the wind blowing pretty hard. I released the arrow and all three of the dropped down to bolt, I hit the I was holding one high, got a pass through of nothing but meat. She wheeled and broke my arrow! I sure hope Ohio goes better than is has here in NC, I have had an opportunity at two book bucks and couldn't close the deal as well as not putting any meat on the ground. Sorry had to get on my soapbox for a bit, I'm just frustrated and not doing much for the team.
TexasDeerHunter
Sorry to hear about your rough start. Here things are going pretty well, I have arrowed 3 doe so far and rifle season starts Saturday. My buddy called and said they have been seeing some great bucks. The bucks here started chasing doe about two weeks ago , but the rut has not peaked yet. Hope I can put some meat on the ground this weekend. Good luck team. PotashRLS
I see we have a big goose egg on the scoreboard. Are you guys entering your does for the 5 pts. each? I will if I ever fill my darn freezer. I see a lot of the other teams are shooting a bunch of baldies. Just wondering:)
spcfoor
Hopefully I will add at least 5 pts to the team on Saturday.
