bought my 45-70 last fall and never and fired it till this spring and not much then!!This is when i start shooting alot!!So i've been practicing on the 45-70(pro hunter)and at 50 yrds you have to aim about 16" low and then at 80 yrds cant even hit the target zone!!But at 40 yrds i can hit it just have to aim really low!!!I have never adjusted the peep sights before so i guess i need to spend abouy 80 bucks on ammo and find a buddy who can adjust them and go at it!!Any suggestions woud be greatly appreciated!!

If youre shooting low the rear sight needs to come up. That will force you to bring the front of the rifle up.

Dont go blow a bunch of money on ammo. Find or by a bore sight. It wont get you 100% there but will easily get you very close.

Also, keep in mind that different brands of ammo will shoot differently. If you buy Remington ammo and then shoot a box of federal out of it once its lined out you may still be off of target. Guns like different ammo. Find the one it likes and stick with it.
