muggs
What if the Miami Redhawks beat Michigan this weekend? How perfect would the world be? I'm just taking a quick look at their schedule, I'm seeing losses to: -Utah -Wisconsin -Illinios -Penn State -Michigan State -and of course THE Ohio State University That's six right there. Plus, Northwestern, Purdue, Minnesota, and heck, maybe even Nortre Dame all have shots. By my math, that's a best case scenario of a 6-6 season. With an excellent chance of 5-7...maybe even 4-8. Awesome.
buckbuster11
Michigan looks like a complete mess as I figured they would. You can't can one of the best young QB's in the nation and then install a brand new offense and expect to not miss a beat. Still can't figure out why in the world they got rid of Mallet. Rich Rod will be lucky if he is still coaching there after next season.
c_lou
They really got screwed when Pryor when to OSU. He would have been the perfect QB for their system. As long as the Badgers take'm to the woodshed, I'll be happy.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Ya know. I have been picturing last saturdays game in my mind for the last few days. Now that I have seen RichRods offense, I don't really think I like it. The way they performed wasn't a big deal, they are young and inexperienced at every postion on offense so I knew they would stink right out of the gate. I just don't like it because it's not Michigan, it's not the Big Ten. Yeah, there are a couple teams in the Big Ten that run some sort of a spread Offense, but I don't think there is anything to this extreme. It just doesn't feel right. Part of me hopes they improve as the season goes on, and of course I would like to see them do well, but another part hopes that when they reach their peak, they are just an average team(so they get rid of Rich Rod). Maybe I just need more time to get used to it, but I don't think so. There are plenty of teams out there who are successfull and not running this spread. Wisconsin, Ohio State (although they have some type of a spread look at times), and USC come to mind. USC has been easily the most consistantly successfull team the last 6-7 years or so and there style isn't really a speard style, its more speed than anything. I dunno, I'm just not liking it, and sort of hope some of you guys are right about him not sticking around long. I loved watching his style at WV, would watch them every chance I could, but it just doesn't fit here.

Rich Rod will need 3 years to get his kind of players for his style of play. So I will hold off on calling him a bust until then. As for this year, its gonna be ugly for us Michigan fans. Haveing to listen to you ohio DB's on here and the couple of smart arshes from ohio that I work with, will make for a very long season.:(
Ohiobucks
.....but another part hopes that when they reach their peak, they are just an average team(so they get rid of Rich Rod). Ahhhh, I love it! 1 game into their new coach and fans are ready to burn him! :D
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Ahhhh, I love it! 1 game into their new coach and fans are ready to burn him! :D I'm not ready to burn him cause they lost. Unlike some people, I realize a change this extreme requires time to learn and work out the kinks, not to mention the QBs were recruited for an entirely different style of play. Had they won by 40 points, I don't think my opinion would have been any different. Maybe I need time to get used to it because it's a style of offense completely different than I am used to seeing Michigan run.
Nick
I'm not a Michigan fan by any means....But I can tell when they have a good team....but them first two games were just ugly. If it wasnt for a couple of Miami of Ohio dropped balls or balls just on the fingertips of receivers, this game could have easily went the other way.
