nativetexan
So I was on vacation both in Texas and Virginia for a while. While at Wal Mart in VA, I stopped in the sporting goods department to look at guns while my wife picked up a few things. I mentioned to her there was a Savage .270 on the rack, and it was a great price. She said I didn't need another gun and walked off. Not real happy at this point considering she said I didn't need anymore guns. For the next two days I bugged her about it, and we got to the point of fighting. The next day, she went to town to the grocery and told me to go get them out of the car so she could make dinner for my in-laws. I opened the trunk, and there it lay...A brand new Savage model 110 in .270. All was well then. I hate that women do that though...Men keep it simple, we say "yes." Women say no, then drag it out for days to torture us, then show up with it anyway. Next I go to my dad's house in Texas, and he decided to give up his M-1 Carbine to me. So I came back from vacation with two new (well, 1 old) guns! Whoo Hoo!
okiedog
Next I go to my dad's house in Texas, and he decided to give up his M-1 Carbine to me. Thats awesome! I own 2 M-1 Carbines, a Winchester and a Underwood. My dad always said if could have just one gun, that M-1 would be the one. Fun little guns to shoot. Got to love the clanking action. Jeramie
Thats a sweet deal! That .270 will be a great shooter. Savage has really moved up in my book. They make great rifles. Also the .270 is fast, flat, and has a lot of punch. Great cals.

wtnhunt
That is cool. The wife hunts with a savage model 10 in .243, very accurate rifle.
Rem308
Sounds like a heck of a good vacation! I shot over the holiday weekend and a friend was shooting in a new scope on his Savage .270. I'm not sure which model it was, but it was synthetic and blued, bolt action, standard barrel and accu trigger. It was a very accurate rifle. He was shooting at 100 yards and cutting his own holes about everytime. Nice guns, that M1 Carbine sounds nice.
