turningcustomcalls
A couple years ago I recieved a cva optimum for my b-day. I am shooting 100 grain pyrdex pellets and a 240 grain TC Mag Sabots. I have a 3x9x40 scope. My question is... can I up my grain to 150? The barrell says that it is a magnum and I was told you can shoot 150 as long as it says magnum. My other question is, would the extra pellet make that big of a difference? hammerforged
I've got the CVA Kodiak Magnum in 45 cal. I have shot 150 grains in the Pyrodex Pellets with a 275 grain Powerbelt Copper Aerotip. My gun seems to like 100 grains better in the Pyrodex Pellets but the 150 in the Triple 7. I have got some of the Buckhorn 209 on order and will let you know the results when I get to try it.
hammerforged
Just found a great Ballistic chart on Powerbelts web site that shows the velocity difference between 100 grains Pyrodex Pellets and 150 grains Pyrodex Pellets for each weight Powerbelt bullet. Go to - www.powerbeltbullets.com and look for the Ballistic Information link on the right hand side.
