Sambar Hunter
Hi guys I was just wondering how I should mount my goat horns to a plaque, drilling a hole straight through that top of the skull then through the plaque then screwing the horns and plaque together would do the job but it looks like a halfed assed job and dosent give the respect that the horns deserve, any advice on how to secure the horns to the plaque would be greatly appreciated. RTF
Thats the only way I know. After that you can hide the screws by adding some paper mache followed with a coat of flock. When building over the skull cap with the mache, form it into the shape and style you would like. BTW nice goat.

Nick
I think a skull mount would look nice.
EKYhunter
Since those are horns and not antlers, doesn't the outer sheathing come off while the horn itself remains attached to the skull? I ask this because a taxidermist showed me a ram he was mounting last year and he had the sheathing (I'm not sure if that's the correct term) removed. Couldn't you just boil all of the meat from the skull, reattach the sheathing, and then mount the skull to a plaque? I had a skull mount done last year and the taxidermist ran screws from the bottom, through the wood and then into the skull, so that the screws could not be seen unless loking at the bottom or into the skull itself. Does this make any sense? GREAT looking trophy by the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!
