Hillbilly
I like both Dead Down Wind and Scent Blocker, I have had deer 5 feet under my stand when using both Scent Blocker and Dead Down Wind and I have yet to be busted with both products!!! Whats your favorite??
Strut10
I prefer to hunt the wind correctly and hunt high enough to not use anything. Works amazingly well. I see the guys on TV get busted over scent issues (while using all the state-of-the-art gadgetry and gizmos) waaaaaay more than I ever do. Chrud
I don't use any Scent Blocker or Scent Lok clothing. I use HS Scent-A-Way and follow their scent free system (washing camo clothes, soap, shampoo, sprays, etc.) as best as I can. It works well for me. OUTSIDER
I like dead down wind spray, and taking scent free showers, using cover scents, and getting high up in a tree, i have taken many animals, two which are in the record books, i am not impressed (anymore) by the scent clothes. I used to like stuff called stealth dust, but i cannot find it any more.
Mach1
I've never taken a shower using scent free shampoo/soap. I wear ScentLok clothing most of the time while bowhunting. All other hunting clothing is washed in scentfree detergent. Anytime I head to the woods or blind, I always spray generous amounts of HS Scent-a-way sprays (mostly the non-scented spray) on my clothing, hats, gloves, boots, bow, and other gear before walking in. I will also use the HS scent wafers as cover scents. IMO, it's impossible to eliminate 100% of the human scent that you will have with you in the woods. Using the scent blocking clothing, scentfree detergents, shampoos, soaps, sprays, and cover scents all help to get you as close to that 100% elimination as possible. But nothing can substitute playing the wind and thermals properly.

Stinger-Hunter
I've had the best luck when not using anything and not showering in the morning. I've had deer within 5 yards of me many times. However, I usually shower with scent free soap and wash my gear in scent free sport wash and then again with baking soda. Odd thing, seems that if I just say "forget it, I'm going out stinking" I get a big one. Have done this several times. Last year I took 6 deer total, some of the time the wind was going right to them. Can't explain it. Some of my worst days in the woods (getting busted several times) were days that I used the unscented protection and showered with unscented soap. Go figure... The mighty breeze will do more than any product out there.

wtnhunt
Try to take the best precautions possible to remove as many human odors as we can with laundry washes and scent free soaps. Used to use fresh earth as a cover scent, but the only cover scent I really use anymore is cedar and I do keep cedar limbs in the totes I store my clothes in. We have cedars all over our property so it is a natural odor. Far as the carbon suits, I am not sold on them and glad I did not spend more than what I did on what I bought. Last year was my first year trying the climaflex scent lok stuff and I did not have any deer any closer than what I have had in years past. And I did still use unscented showers just the same as always and kept the scent lok clothes zip lock bagged.
Rhino
I don't use any cover scent. I prefer to be as scent free as possible. I wear Scent Lok after showing and putting on clean, scent free undergarments, including layering if necessary. Anything that I carry in with me is sprayed with a scent neutralizer if necessary. I try to keep everything away from where it might be contaminated by foreign odors. About the only cover scent that might get on any of my cloths would come from the white cedar cabinet or cedar dresser I keep some of my under garments in my bedroom at my camp. It's doubtful though since both pieces of furniture are 8 years old now.
Jeramie
HS Real earth however, I hang my hunting clothes out all season and let it rain, sun, and wind them. I never wear them in the house. I also wear rubber boots. I think that is 100% more effective than ANY cover. I also scrub with the scent proof carbon soap before every hunt.... Dubie
I shower with plain water the night before, and wash my hunting cloths in warm water with no soap, and hang to dry. I mind the wind when I hunt, and have managed to stalk into bow range of bear, moose, whitetail, elk, and a grey wolf...In my opinion, you don't need scent blocker products. And even if you use them, you'll be busted all the same if you don't pay attention to the environment.

I will waste the $3 on carbon soap and the $4 on the sports wash before I hang my clothes out but I attribute any success to hanging my clothes outside so they dont really smell like anything and rubber boots. Texan_Til_I_Die
Unless you're wearing something made by NASA, you're leaking scent. No if's, and's or but's. There will be exposed skin and just 1 square inch is all a deer needs to smell you.
BearClaw
You gotta go with what works for you. I use the HS Specialties system and have for years. (Unscented soap, shampoo, deodorant, spray) and I've had deer right under my stand. I even had one come in downwind of me and she still came in. One of them seems a little concerned but not the other but that was about 12 yards from my stand! Works for me but like others have said, there are other good products out there.
