late soybean planting update

Pretty impressed with the explosive growth of these beans despite a lack of rain here. Guess the beans are getting some moisture in the bottom and maybe some additional moisture under the edge of the drip line. Plot was planted late July with eagle seeds rr soybean mix. The beans are being hammered on one end of the plot by turkeys.

About a month ago, stand is hung just inside the corner here with a view back to the river coming off the hill and a 30 yard shot to the pinch point past the edge of the plot.

BTW--thanks for posting the pics with RT. :D

Wha wha wha, lmbo.:p:D Sorry bud, forgot you were back to school. So much quicker to load at photobucket.:o

Thought you could not see any pics at school anymore?

wow those do look good considering how little rain you have gotten.

Guessing we have had somewhere around 2 inches or so of rain since these beans were planted. Like I said, pretty impressed with the eagle seed mix. The edge closest to the woods where the beans are not eaten to the ground, they are about knee high on me.

William,

You should get some seed production with the 2 earlier varieties in the blend. The two later ones will depend on first frost. Last year I planted a test on Aug. 3 and got 30 inches of height, 11 nodes, and the beans were filling in the pods, but did not reach maturity. Great looking plot.

Thanks Brad. We actually have some flowering starting now, so yeah we will get some bean production, first frost here is usually not until mid October, but who knows with the way the weather has been lately.:o

My Eagle soybeans area loaded with beans right now and still producing forage. The deer are putting a hurt to them but their still going strong.
