Scientists have a history of imagining worst case scenarios.

Did you know that in 1945, immediately before the first successful atomic bomb test, there were a number of leading scientists on the project who feared the the heat from the blast would be so intense that it would ignite the atmosphere and cause a global firestorm?

Of course, we all know how that turned out.

The one guy said, "nothing will happen for four years..."

Four years. That coincides with a lot of cultures, including the Mayan culture, which predict the End of Times as December 12, 2012.

According to the Bible, which I firmly believe in, no one knows when the end will come save the Father only, regardless of what the Mayan's believed or predicted. I feel that this experiment will be a dud, based on what the Bible says about the end of the world, this doesn't coincide with any of it.

This thing is built and i remember reading cost over 9 billion dollors it's not just this nut's little project it's funded by some big money and they are about to start it up but i read it was four months before they start the collisions not four years. I saw a big show on the science or discovery channels a few years ago when they were building it and it's huge 17 miles around. It's a scary deal here's some more info

I know how the big bang theory worked, Here it is.

There was a big bang,

Then there was land and water.

there were ameba's in the water that turned into fish.

then the fish grew legs and lungs and crawled up on the land.

It was cold on land so they grew hair.

the hair got stuck on the briars so they started to walk upright

then they shaved off the hair and became lawyers.

this view is not the oppinion of the Realtree Forums staff. LOL

Heard about this on BBC this morning. Didn't catch it all I was busy getting my kids off to school. The thing that caught my attention was the speculation that the experiment could cause a black hole. Reminded me of that movie The Neverending Story and the Nothing that engulfed everything.

I'd like to think it's just a waste of time, but with the high dollars associated with it...???

Perhaps I'll make a point to be at church this Sunday.;)
