I'm not familiar with what happened or what all the uproar was about. I can only imagine that whatever picture you posted caused some controversy or showed something that could have been illegal in your state.

I geuss without answering the questions posed towards you, when any doubt cropped up, it simply fanned the flames.

I've known some people that enjoy that kind of controversy and I believe it's called "Stirring the Pot".

Again I dont know what happened but in my experience here on the forums alot of patience is shown to people especially when theres a level of communication to help resolve the situation. If anything causes a public misunderstanding the author of the post has the chance to explain what happened.

Here is the original thread Gary....

http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?p=922809#post922809

Apparantly hunters are allowed to kill only 2 bucks total in Illinois. The title of the thread being "My Kills from last year", clearly show three bucks all tagged, raised suspicion as to whether they were illegally tagged, or he was bragging that the deer someone else had actually shot, was in fact his own. He had been PM'ed to clarify and never responded, and then if you look at my post (number 44), in the same thread, he had been online viewing that thread, and did not answer the mods that had PM'ed him regarding these claims of shooting these three bucks. That is when it seemed to be really suspicious, and a couple of the members contacted the Illinois DNR, and made them aware.

This thread

http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76285

Seems the Illinois DNR was very interested in this and was going to contact RT for his IP address and name and information, then investigate this to determine if he had illegally tagged deer, or was just a bragger.

This is going to be interesting to say the least.

As for your answer Rodger, no it is not illegal to post pics on RT, it is however frowned upon to post images or speak of illegal acts, this including what appears to be three deer all tagged, in the back of a truck with you posing for the picture claiming that you shot them all, when according to the Illinois forum members on here, two bucks total are the limit. You couldn't take 5 minutes to answer the questions, so the mods did what was right and locked the thread.

Both Realtree Admins and forum members hold high regard for this being a tight run forum, and frowns upon admission of crimes or En-Con violations........you may just find that out.

Can't say it much better than that. All you had to do was answer all the questions in which you had ample time to do.

Preach it brother!

Bottom line, please explain who shot all three deer, and if it was you, how did you legally harvest 3 bucks in a 2 buck limit state.

If it's legit and legal, you'll get no more grief from here...I expect anyway.

I don't understand why you are being so defensive. All you have to do is explain the photo and clear up the confusion (if there is any) and all will be well among thsoe in the forum

Exactly! You've got to know that when you come on this site, these people know hunting inside and out. This includes game laws. There was a post on here a while back where a young hunter bragged about kiling a rabbit with his bow. Seems he didn't know his state had a season and it wasn't in. As I say, these people know game laws, and when it appears that someone has broken them, they will call you on it! As they should. So, just clear it up and all will be well! It appears that you are on-line as I type this.

Rodger, why not give an explanation here in this thread right now since you brought it back up. Explain for us whether there was some sort of misunderstanding and you did not mean to imply that "your kills" included the three deer shown in the pictures, or explain if in fact they were all your deer how you legally were able to harvest them.

Pretty simple really.

Theres Several Private Hunting Preserve In Ill That Allow You To Kill More Than Two Bucks Per Season As Long As You Have The $ To Pay For Them

All 3 Deer are clearly tagged and no tag is required to hunt a preserve in Illinois. I find it quite telling that he still has not reponded. I suspect we won't here from him again. ;)

It just makes no sense to come on here and complain on how you were treated if you are not willing to answer everyone's question on how the deer were tagged. We appologize if we offended you, but you have also visited the site and the post since and have never explained anything. Hopefully we can all get the story and this thing can be past all of us.

Have to agree here, as well as with pretty much what everyone else says. Give us an explanation. I'm from IL, and there is a 2 buck limit combined with all weapons. If you had nuisance tags,or any other way to legally harvest 3 bucks in 1 year, fine, tell us that. Just explain how you harvested 3 bucks. If you continue to hold out, people will continue to assume(me included and correctly IMO) that you harvested those bucks illegally and any illegal or for that matter, extremely immoral acts, are really frowned upon here. This is a great forum where we love to see photos of anyone's legal and legit harvest and congratulate them on it. Look almost anywhere in this forum. If there is a picture and/or a story, there are compliments and congratulations. Again, EXPLAIN YOURSELF if you have nothing to hide, that shouldn't be so hard.

What's real interesting is that if you go back to the original post and hold your cursor over the pictures you get these labels:

8 pointer 2nd season

8 pointer #2 2nd season

15 pointer 2nd season

This indicates that these are gun killed bucks because there's only 1 bow season.

Also notice that "rodger" is wearing the same shirt in all of the pictures..............must have had a GOOD day, or else he doesn't change clothes very much.

I have a sneaking suspicion that we're dealing with an individual who's trying to take credit for other hunters kills. All of the deer are tagged, I think he's just posing with them.

My $.02

That may be true, but it can't be certain until we get some answers from "rodger"......
