Switchback29A1
Thinking of making a last minute broadhead change for this year. Wondering from you guys that shoot this particular head, how closely do the fly to field points?
woodshed
Ive been shooting and comparing the Montec with the Striker this year. I haven't decided yet. Both are right on with my field tips. The striker having a bit of the lead I'd say. With the striker being so incredibly sharp, I'm leaning towards them at this point. However, I got the G5 sharpening stone for the Montecs. I was able to get them darn sharp also. The strikers are still sharper though. Like WAY sharp!! MUDRUNNER
I got a free Stryker from G5 last year to try out.It looks like a great head. It's super sharp and flew right in with my field points and Crimson Talon heads.
hutchies
I tried them last year and so did my buddy on deer. They flew great for target practice but I shot 2 deer with them.....Both broadside 30 yards with a 70 lb bow and 370 grain arrows and I could not buy a pass thru. We didn't find either deer. I'm not saying they don't work but I had bad luck with them. I shot a small game animal with one and when I got the arrow the head was trashed. I sounds like the heads didn't hold up well to hitting bone and then stopped. I'd like to hear some more about their durability.
xOZx
I bought them last year for my first year bow hunting. As indicated by others, they flew right with my field tips. At the same time, I also checked out some Muzzys. Both flew well. As for durability, I would say the Stikers are comparable to the muzzy. The heads are durable but the blades are very thin. I practice I damaged 1 Striker and 2 Muzzy...but that was from shots that were off target. I did not shoot a deer with one. (Tag soup for me in '07). Hoyt03
Strikers are a great head and will fly like your field points if your bow is tuned. That being said I would go with the slick trick standards or mags. They fly awesome and are very sharp. Changing heads this late could give you fits if they are not flying great for you out of your bow. I usually experiment with that stuff in the spring or summer. It's just that I'm getting field tip accuracy with the three I've tried. Muzzy, Montec, and Striker. So, I'm good there at least. It's all a matter of durability at this point. As far as penetration,,, I know they will all pass through no problem so that is moot.
Guest bowhunter56
100 gr. striker here,,,fly like a field point...you won't regret trying them... passthrough on a 8pt last year..scary sharp german steel blades..I only shoot or use a broad head once, regardless if it has replaceable blades or not..once it passes through a deer, i don't care what the head looks like.. yooperkenny
I also got the free Striker from G5 last summer and liked it so much I bought a pack for deer season. Killed 2 deer in October using them - they performed great! They included a bandaid with the free broadhead which I thought was pretty funny - actually cut my self and ended up using it - they are scary sharp! I always switch to practicing with my broadheads around Labor Day. So early last week I did so and they flew exactly like my field points. I'll be shooting Strikers for a good long while..... EKYhunter
I also tried the free Striker last year. The head was extremely sharp, flew like a field point, and I was very impressed with it. I was going to order some for this year but decided to go with the 4 blade Magnus Stinger instead due to them having the same above mentioned qualities plus an unconditional LIFETIME warranty. If I were you, I would not hesitate to go with the Strikers!
Guest Oneshot7
I used the striker last year and was very impressed. I shot a doe that it went through the liver, clipped the heart and took out a lung. The deer made it thirty yards, so no blood trail was needed. The head was fine and went on to shoot another deer for my brother in law with a new set of blades in. I wouldnt hesitate to use them again.
