buckee
LOL cept it technically doesn't get it to the top!! Ironic isn't it lol. Steve Yeah..what's with the forums ? We leave for a few days, and it gets all screwed up. We got home after supper last night, and this morning the fatigue caught up to me. I slept most of the day. Ok... I guess you all want the story on my eye-ball buck Kathleen and I got to hunt together lots, and it suited us just fine. Besides, she is way better looking than some of you guys...LOL:D Well, Kathleen and I had been taking turns ranging for each other. It was my turn to try to shoot, and when the time came, I drew back, and heard her say, 52 ...53 ...53...and I was just starting to squeeze the trigger, when she said 45, 45 yrds, so I made a quick adjustment, and pulled. I obviously pulled the shot, as well as the trigger. It's really tough shooting yardages when you have no pin to go there, but Steve assured us, that if we hit one, they can't go far, without being found in that wide open country. I had been practicing at 20, 30 and 40, but had no 50 or 60 yrd pin, and that's where the majority of shots took place. Yes Luke, ...I missed my fair share also. :o Antelope must be the hardest North-American game animal, (besides sheep and goats to hunt, with a bow.) They have sentries posted on every butte and hill it seemed, and you could always be assured one would tip the others off, as you made your stalk. Their eyesight is phenomenal also, and if you aren't watching yourself, you get picked off pretty dang easy. It's amazing how some really bad shots, can kill so quickly...eh  Thank God for that. I did manage to do a stock, using "The Shadow shield" to sneak up within 20 yards and finish the job, with another Exturkinator arrow through the Lungs. Thank you David Ashburn. I made those arrows just for you, so you could be there too. This hunt has been the best hunt ever, with the some of the greatest hunting buddies a guy could ask for. Steve B and Rilda, are the most gracious Hosts anyone could ever ask for, and in spite of all the hard times they have been going through this past couple of weeks, they never wavered. Rilda is a real sweetheart, and supports everything Steve does. I couldn't help being a bit envious Steve. The country is beautiful, beyond words and so was everyone I met there..
