I bought this bow new in late 2001 from BPS. Its a right handed bow. It is a wonderfully smooth drawing bow with a very forgiving brace hieght. I just had new strings and cables put on it last summer, as well as an overall tune-up. The bow will come with string leaches and split limb limb-savers, A two inch overdraw and a standard two prong rest, a dusk-till-dawn peep-sight, kisser button, and matching quiver (the quiver mount does have some grinding on it, due to trying to mount a different sight, but quiver works and detaches perfectly), There will also be a savage pendulum sight on the bow as well. (the fiber optic did come out but you should easily be able to get a new one). I will also be including a hardcase with the package. I have well over $700 in this bow and it has butchered many a deer (8 last year)!! I do have all orginal paperwork with the bow as well. I also have some modules for adjusting the draw length. Why is it that you can shoot some bows better than others? Most often it has to do with the grip. A bow has to feel right in your hand before you can truly forget about it and lock in on the target. In order to “become the arrow” your bow must first become a part of your body.

The LiteSpeed 1 is from Golden Eagle’s Natural Series. As the name implies, it was designed to be a natural extension of your bow arm. It possesses the most revolutionary grip ever offered, one that provides bowhunters with the feel they need to shoot with accuracy and instinct.

The Natural Grip

A well-designed grip leads to relaxation as you draw and aim. But a poor grip is like a short-circuit between you and the bow. You'll know right away that something's wrong. You're not able to relax and your shots will scatter like confetti on a windy day.

Golden Eagle’s Natural Series bows feature patented, offset grip sections. The bottom of the grip is rotated 15 degrees outward (to the left for right-handed shooters) to put your hand and arm in the most natural position possible. Quickly, stick out your bow arm and point at something across the room. Your hand isn’t straight up and down is it? With Golden Eagle’s angled grip aiming and vertical alignment are more instinctive, making you more accurate when you don’t have the time to scrutinize every aspect of your shooting form.

1999 Efficiency Upgrade Kit

Golden Eagle’s designers understand the need for a fast arrow, but they also know it should be a hard-hitting arrow. To make the two compatible they’ve designed an Efficiency Upgrade Kit, which is optional on select OneCam bows. The LiteSpeed 1 I tested was upgraded.

A ball-bearing idler wheel, a lightweight string system and a slick Teflon cable guard slide make upgraded bows approximately 3 % faster than comparable non-upgraded models. This speed increase also produces about 6 % greater penetration energy – something you will appreciate when shooting light arrows. The kit can also be purchased as an after-market add-on for that came out before this year.

The All New One Cam

The new OneCam from Golden Eagle is one of the smoothest of the new generation single-cams. Many of the competition’s fastest have an extremely sharp drop into letoff and a very short holding valley. The draw can be harsh and jerky. It’s hard to relax fully when you’re fighting the string at full draw.

A comfortable valley is nice, but a solid back wall at full draw is also a prerequisite to reaching your accuracy potential. The OneCam features Xact Stop modules that assure a consistent anchor point every time. With 75% letoff, the OneCam is also very comfortable to hold as you aim.

Accuracy Is Built In

It seems that speed became the most important design parameter in the mid-90’s. Brace heights dropped so low that only the most gifted archers could shoot the top bows with real precision. The LiteSpeed 1 reverses the trend with a brace height of 7 ½ inches for split limb versions. Brace heights in this range produce bows that are very accurate for archers of all skill levels. Even though the LiteSpeed 1 is very shootable it is still fast with IBO standard arrow speeds (60 pound, 30 inches, 300 grain arrow) approaching 295 fps (with the efficiency kit).

For those interested in even more arrow speed, or wishing to comply with Pope & Young’s requirements, 65% letoff modules are also available for the LiteSpeed 1.
