Anyone ever had someone come in and put a stand up right by your stand and trail camera?? I have been hunting some timber for quite awhile now and im the only one thats supposed to be there. Someone is tresspassing and has the guts to put a stand right by my stand and trailcamera. Im talkin like a tree 5ft from mine, so its not like he didnt see it. And to top it off the broke the lock and took the sim card out of my camera. Im freakin hot!!:mad::mad: I left the stand and called the landowner on my way home. He told me to take the stand. I dont want it but im gonna take it down and give it to the landowner and let him do what he pleases with it. Its a nice stand but its not about the stand. Why are people so dumb! Im ticked to no end!! Landowner told me to leave a note on the tree. Not sure what im gonna say yet but its not gonna be pretty haha! I really really do not like people like this. Its hard enough to get people around here to do buck management. Finally have that, now i have this pesky #$%$#$ to deal with. This season is gonna be a knock out drag out beat em to the punch this year. Thats ok, il get his phone number from the landowner and give him a call when i shoot a monster and ask if he will come help me track lol :D. Im goin to take the stand down now and leave him nice get the blank out of here kinda note now bwawhahahaha.

Man, I am right there with you. Just be careful, if he is enough of an jerk to put a stand up where he don't belong, he may be unbalanced upstairs as well. Earlier before bow season opened in the lower part of my state I went to check my cam and stand and found the supports cut on my stand. Cut just enough to hold until I got up in it and then it would have let go. Haven't caught up with the culprit yet, but the local Sheriff told me to be sure and spend some "Quality" time with the so and so before I called him. I hope you can get it worked out.

I can see why you're upset. At my parent's house I have my spot that was my dad's and is now passed down to me, which I built a stand at. It's a natural funnel and has always produced a buck year after year. Well down past this funnel is a thicket where the deer go and feel safe. The wind swirls down in there and the deer know if you head into it from where they bed. Well the rest of my family (cousins and what not) have built treestands closer and closer to it every year. This past year one of my younger cousins and my uncle built a treestand right down in the middle of the thicket. Lets just say this past season I saw more deer running for the hills out of there then I'd like. I still get asked if I will be there opening morning like things are going to change after about 10 years...lol. Then we have at least four stands bordering my dad's property that are within 15 yards of the border (old short stone walls).

Hope you get things worked out,

Dan

I know your mad, and you have a right to be. But the the best thing you should do it take the stand to the land owner. Leave a note telling the guy, if he wants his stand back, contact the land owner and bring your sims card with him when he go's to get it. Let the land owner deal with it, it's his land.

Well heres an update... Well I spoke with the landowner b4 going back out to take the stand down. He told me that he had called the game warden and made them and the sheriff's dept. aware of the situation. And made sure that they new I was the only one who had permission to hunt his property. He had me stop by and get written permission from him to carry with me incase I run into them while out hunting :D. Took the stand and treesteps down. Took them to the landowner, left a note on the tree telling the dude where is stand was and that the property was now being watched by the landowner, his farm hands, and one peeed off hunter (me) :D. The landowner also told me that he would do anything he could to help me with this situation. Man all the leg work and communicateing I have done with him the last 6 years has really paid off. I have given him deer meat, followed all of his wishes when it comes to not drivin in certain fields, which in turn ment i had to walk almost a mile just to get to the timber then another 3 to 4 hundred yards in the timber to get to my stand. I hated every min of it, but now it all has paid off. Just goes to show you that the ole you scratch my back il scratch yours still applies today. He is not on the forums but a big thank you goes out to him!!

I took it down haha. Left my stand up. Its chained and locked to the tree. If he wants to go to the hassle of cutting it down he will half to take his own tree steps in and a pair of bolt cutters. I wouldnt put it past this guy but i have a lil trick up my sleeve for him. O and the farmer called me and asked me if i had bought a 4wheeler for this year. I said no and asked why he asked that. Well come to find out this guy drove his 4 wheeler through the landowners bean field..... He wasn't happy b4 now hes furious. He asked me to try and get a picture of the guy, so now i gotta set a few cams up that are well hidden and hopefully get a picture of this guy. Guess the landowner is gonna try and sock it to this guy through the court system. Man this tresspassin dude is in over his head. Now its my job to catch him on cam so there is proof. Since when did deer scouting turn into people scouting hahaha. Well like they say, its on like donkeykong.
