Tweez
What calls do you use for fall turkey? yelps clucks or what.
pendog
I like kee kee runs and light yelps, social calls seem to work the best for me and my area. If going after gobblers a more raspy yelp seems to work. IMO

longbeardfever4ever
ive found that if you let out a long string of yelps, then wait 20 minutes and do it again, u might find some comin to ya. Also raspy yelps for gobblers, and clucks will help with both hens and gobblers. Plus, dont forget about the kee-kees!
slaw
I was mimicking a hen with long drawn out series of yelps, when my last fall gobbler came in silent with three of his buddies.
Strut10
Your highest percentage method of bagging a fall bird is to scout out a flock pre-season and go in to bust them up when season comes in. Scatter them everywhere then just sit your butt down right there. Wait a few minutes and you'll hear turkeys start to call from all directions. Just take your call and do what they do. Shouldn't take but a few minutes and you ought to be tagged out.
dlriggins
although I dont normally take advantage of the fall season I do like to "socialize" with the birds when I am in the deer stand and will take a mouth call with me just to keep an eye in the flock in prep for the spring I have had good luck with random clucks and a soft purr has been known to spark a curious bird and even get a gobbler to strut on one occasion I believe this was more territorial than sexual expression though

My bro n law called me one day on his cell phone from the hill above my house and said he found a flock, busted them and then killed a bird when he called them back to his position. I walked up the hill later and sat where he said he killed the bird and sat and called for only five minutes before a bird walked to within 10 yards of my waiting 5 shot. Before the shot i was talking to multiple birds from 3 directions. Try this in the fall and you should be happy!!
fenderhunt4
Kee Kees usually work great for me. Especially with hens and younger birds. I've even attracted some gobblers in with it. Though sometimes they don't stay interested too long once they see that no 'turkey' is around. They don't just wait around for the stranger to show up like they can in the spring. But if you see the direction they're heading, you maybe can get around in front of them again and try coaxing them in with a few deep gobbler yelps. Strut10
........we have been watching about a dozen every morning i think i know were they are rousting, set up blind then bang ? thanx everyone:D Awww..............have some fun. If you have the roost pegged down, go in and bust them off the limb right at first light. You'll get a good break then. Just hoot, holler & yell. Wave your arms around. Whatever makes them scatter in every direction. Then sit down, pull your face mask up and get ready for a really good time. Enjoy it while it lasts, though. You'll have your tag filled quicker than you think.
