Jeramie
Due to the evacuation of Houston and the surrouding area gas prices just took a HUGE leap. They will be up $.50 a gallon by the end of the day in Tulsa and are currently on the increase. Trading has already topped $5 a gallon. Get off the net and get to a station, quick! wtnhunt
Yep, noticed that at the pump this morning. Filled up my truck this morning at wal mart and also put 4 gallons in a can for the 4 wheeler and chainsaw. The sign for gas was at $3.629 when I pulled in the wal mart parking lot. I had to go in the store to pick up some things, was inside wal mart for less than 30 minutes and the sign had gone to $3.859 by the time I pulled over to the pumps. Fortunately they had not raised the price on the pumps yet so I saved a few bucks.

c_lou
So how can they charge more for gas that they bought at the cheaper price? Isn't it always stated that gas prices are 2 months behind what the oil trades for? Price Gouging at it's finest.
Jeramie
They have to buy gas to replace the purchased gas. That "future" purchase will cost more, err go prices come up. I just looked on the net. For some reason Arkansas seems to be showing the biggest jump. Most stations around are already $4+. We arent suppose to reach those numbers until tonight?! preacherman
It is goughing! My dad called and said one place in Jackson, MS was already over $5 a gallon. It has jumped 50 cents a gallon here this afternoon. I sure hope this storm passes fast and prices go back down.
Mach1
Rumors in our area that stations near here have run out of gas and won't get any more until the beginning of next week. Also rumors of $5+ and $6+ gas at some stations. Glad I filled up my truck this morning for $3.71 (which is 20 cents higher than it was Tuesday). It went to $3.99 here before noon today. MCH
Just filled up for 3.58 a gallon. Lines were starting to form, though. So I wouldn't be surprised if the city ran out before morning.
Shaun_300
It has been $1.19/liter ($4.50/gal) here for the past few weeks. This morning it jumped to $1.34/liter ($5.07/gal)!!!!! Glad I filled up the truck before work!
slugshooter
I am thinking I need to get some gas tonight. I have a lot of driving to do the next few days with orientation for the new job, and another interview on Monday. I noticed gas was 3.99 a gallon on the way home. Alisha
The lines at some of our local pumps are 20+ cars deep waiting for gas. It jumped from 3.79 to 4.05 There was a lady inside the gas station that also heard that it'll jump to the $5 mark.
HUNTINGMAN
Gas here in central KY went from 3.49 this morning to 4.25 this afternoon, and that is for regular.I filled up my car and durango and am planning on sitting home most of the week because I cant afford to make the 45 min drive to my deer hunting farm. How did gas prices not go up 40 or 50 years ago when a storm hit but they do now.I love my country but it seems to be falling apart from the inside,GOD BLESS AMERICA. Jeramie
Youre exactly right... Its falling apart because we are sending billions out to countries that cant stand us! DRILL HERE..... Everyone would see gas prices fall sharply and I dont mean pennies. Also, it would create several jobs and companies like Ford wouldnt have HUGE layoffs. GWSmith
My Dad asked me on the phone a few days ago if I had been driving around looking at the deer in the fields like I usually do this time of year...I told him "No I cant afford to". With this going on it does'nt look like it will happen unless I'm on my way out to actually hunt! Those 9 deer that have been crossing my street about 750ft to the north to feed in a backyard in the evening are possibly in very deep trouble!!! The neighbors may see me walking up the street in the afternoon and sitting next to thier shed with my bow:D
ildrhntr
it took a .20 cent jum here in about an hour.....I think there is some price gouging going on
Nick
I just filled my truck with diesel for the same price as unleaded gasoline ($3.95) for the first time in almost a year. Hows it feel gasoline drivers?
slugshooter
I went to get some gas last night because I have a bit of driving to do the next few days. Thank goodness for 4-cylinders. Anyhoo, I went past the BP that is about a mile from the house and 87 octane was on the board for 3.59, there was another store the opposite direction from the house already jacked up to 3.99. Anyways, I went to another store a mile further and the gas was 3.62. So I said, shoot, I'll just turn around and go back to the BP. I get there, the place is packed, and then I realize he has bags over the 87 nozzles, so I go back to the other store, where I failed to notice the signs on the pumps indicating "No gas", so then I go back to the other place, wait 10 minutes, I finally pumped $18 of 89 octane at 3.78 a gallon. Well, this morning I pass by the BP, and his prices are up to 3.95 for 87, and the bags are off the nozzles, which seemes odd to me. Either he got a late night or early morning delivery, or he shut down those pumps last night in order to wait for the price to go up. Make me wonder. Tominator
Cheapest I saw today was $3.79. I topped off the tank at $3.
ruttinbuc
I beat the price increase by filling up Thursday night on the way home from the airport. It was $3.26... Today the same station is $3.59... There was some serious gouging going on in different areas. I personally think that those who gouge the public should do serious jail time! FireStrut
Thanks to Ike the freaking gas prices have gone up here in this part of Alabama. Gas was $3.57 now it is $4.28 a gallon. Another thing is you can only get ten gallons at a time.
