wtnhunt
The primos calls I ordered from cabelas are still on backorder, wish they would hurry up and get here. So Saturday went and tried to find a howler call here locally and the only non-electric caller I found was woods wise yell'r dawg. I practiced with it Saturday and dont think the call really sounds all that real, but I did get my daughters dog barking to it. My daughters called it a dieing duck call. I followed the instructions and tried a female invitation call and some regular howls while sitting out in my blind. Had put a deer carcass out earlier in the afternoon. Had no luck. Any tips on calling with this call, it was the only howler I could find? I stuffed the carcass back in the garbage can and will set it back out and try again Friday afternoon and over the weekend. jcwa
Re: Tried calling-no luck? I don't really care for closed reed howlers. It takes a lot to get one to sound right. You may need to readjust the reed to make it sound good. To me closed reed howlers work fine for making turkeys shock-gobble, but I just don't care for them calling coyotes. Try to readjust the reed and see how it sounds.

jcwa
Re: Tried calling-no luck? You would have to get the mouthpiece off to adjust the reed. Some mouthpiece are glued on, you may not be able to. If you can get it off you have to push out the wedge on top of the reed just to losen the reed. Slide the reed up or down to adjust it and slide it back in. "Don't wedge is back in to tight you may have to readjust it again"
wtnhunt
Re: Tried calling-no luck? Thanks jcwa. I think the mouthpiece is permanently attached on this call. It would not budge, I even tried pushing it out from the other end and no luck. Wish cabelas would hurry up and get me my primos calls I ordered. jcwa
Re: Tried calling-no luck? which calls did you order. Did you try basspro to see if they have them, it maybe faster to just cancel and reorder from basspro.
KTMMIKE
Re: Tried calling-no luck? William, Go to www.callingcoyotes.com to get your calls. I like Tweety & Thumper for distress calls. Tally Ho is a good one. It can be used as distress or howler. You ought to get a video also. I have all of them & I like Calling All Coyotes 1 & 2 the best. Not only are they entertaining but instructional as well. I don't have any advice on the call you have. Sorry.
wtnhunt
Re: Tried calling-no luck? I ordered the primos predator masterpack. Comes with a dvd and a kiyi and hotdog calls. I used points and cabelas bucks with cabelas on the order when I bought my digital cam, and Thursday will be 2 weeks that I have had the camera, the calls were only supposed to be on backorder for a week, but that changed. Guess I need to call cabelas csr's and see what they can do for me.
