You could possibly shoot a bow out of the box, some are supposed to be ready to shoot, but it will take adjustments to your sights for you. Setting up a bow is really not that tough, but I agree with you just getting into it that you would probably be best off to go to a shop and get some help there. With sports and all that good nonsense I lacked a lot of time in high school and just recently got into it big time. I went to a local bow shop around my hometown and got set up nicely. After constant practice I was ready to go, but w/o the local bow shop owner helping me out I don't know how well I'd have done if I just went and bought the stuff instead of asking for an opinion.
