BearClaw
I use the Moultried tree cam ($99.00 variety) and works great. I agree that Tink's works good.
wtnhunt
Think for cams it depends on how much you want to spend, would look at the new moultries and leaf rivers. Scents, I use mostly active scrape in scrape drippers, works great for us. Use tinks stuff some too. Agree with the thermacell on repellants. Rhino
You're going to get several answers on trail cams. I'm not a Leaf River fan at all. I have 2 Leaf River cams that are 3 years old and the picture quality and trigger speed don't impress me at all. I use Cuddeback Expert (I have 3 of them) and Reconyx RC55 (I have 1 of them). The best thing for you to do is check out the different quality of pics and specs from this site. Then it's just a matter of choosing what's in your price range. http://www.trailcampro.com/ I also prefer Code Blue for scent (estrus scent) When bugs are a problem I always hunt with my Thermacell. Flintlock1776
I use Moultire Trail Cams and it does well in IR. I also use that Thera Cell device and it works great. They just came out with a dirt scent/repellant combo! I use Hunters Specialty Dirt wafers and dirt scent bottle stuff and have had great results. GWSmith
Trail Camera = I own a Moultrie..It's capabilities are better suited for an area where deer regularly feed. Pictures are decent but not nearly as good as some of the "HomeBrew Cameras" I have seen. Scents = Any scent I get at a discount at the local WalMart. (explaination and picture below) ThermaCell = Never seem to get any bites after I fire it up. (2)...the number of ThermaCell units I have...one of them goes with me for bug repellant and the other one stays on the ground for heated scent dispersal. I bought the small metal stand availible that snaps onto the top of the Thermacell unit. Put a liberal amount of scent on the pad and your good. Just dont forget where you put it if you get the camo one;)
dougp
Hey im just looking for the best cam and scents and repellants for hunting this year. If anyone could help me itd be great. thanks If you are new, a really good question to ask is "What type of safety harness?" I use a Moultrie (D-40, I think??) I just got into game cams this year. I works well for me and next time they are on sale, i'll buy two more. Tinks. It's what I have always used. Thermacell. No doubt the BEST 20 bucks you'll ever spend. Good luck in the woods. hoosierhunter
Trail Cam I have the Reconyx RC60 Covert and by far and away it's the best camera I've seen. The detection area and trigger speed literally blow away a cuddeback and not to mention cuddeback is having a ton of problems with their new capture cameras right now. Deleting memory cards and locking up ETC.......
backwoods07
Moultrie Cam Tinks Scent Thermacell Repellant (realtree camo, of course) Starting to notice a pattern?
