wtnhunt
Now this would be a seasonal only feeder. Bait in this state must be removed 10 days prior to any season opening, so I would feed only in the spring and summer. The goal is to draw more deer to our camera and to try to get them to hang around here more and maybe encourage somewhat of a feeding pattern. I have a barrel approximately 30 gallon and was considering one of those feeder kits with a timer. What is the best economical way to go as far as a timer. Dont think a photocell would be the best bet, because of the raccoons. Any suggestions?
mitrrophybowhunter
Re: Considering a feeder-suggestions I bought the whole American feeder unit and love it. I belive that they have a kit to put on a bucket. Works great on a timer and can feed 6 times a day
Gus
Re: Considering a feeder-suggestions We have been using Moultrie feeders for about 5 years now and never had any problems. Had our own barrels and just bought the timer box at Wal-Mart. Also added some solar panels to each one and were good to go.
Guest Finn
Re: Considering a feeder-suggestions I bought a Moultrie at Bass Pro last year for about $65. I hang it between 2 trees on a 10 gallon can. It can be programmed to run at 4 different times and works great.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Considering a feeder-suggestions I really like the On Time feeder motors. Both the Elite (digital) or Lifetime (analog) units come with a full lifetime warranty. I've had to send one back for repairs, and they sent me a new unit to replace it! Very cool!!! bowhtr1
Re: Considering a feeder-suggestions Mix corn with soy beans. keep cutting back on the corn until you have nothing but beans. Coons hate soybeans and the deer love them. There are plenty of good feeders out there get one with a website were you can get help if needed. i have never had any problems with moltrie. The soybeans are alot better for the deer also. Good luck and let see the pics.
