MCH
Wow! Never saw that coming. Guess they're taking a page from the Mets, huh??
toddyboman
I was rather shocked to hear that!! Kinda crazy move but it may be a blessing in disguise for him........Don't think the Brew Crew is going to have much of a team next year. buckbuster11
I think the guy is a major DB, but the timing of this is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the Brewers can kiss the playoffs goodbye with that.
Guest Finn
Well, not sure the timing was the best, but the Brew Crew have collapsed 2 seasons in a row....something had to change.
Chrud
I'm pretty sure the Brewers can kiss the playoffs goodbye with that. I wouldn't count them out yet. Sveum was with Boston during their championships, so he does have some experience with getting to, and doing well in the post-season. But, things don't look good. Their bullpen is horrible. Outside of Sabathia, the rotation has been terrible too. And I don't think they have scored more than 3 or 4 runs in a game this month. The bats helped the rotation a lot this year. Now that their hitting is in a major slump, the whole team is hurting. I agree that this team will probably fall apart after this year. CC is obviously gone, and Sheets will leave too. I'm not as ticked about Sheets as I was earlier this year. Since the arrival of CC, Sheets has looked like a 2 or 3 in a rotation at best. Fielder is going to be a free agent soon and Braun will probably be traded half way through his 8-year contract. That is just how things work in Milwaukee. rhine16
Yost will be at the reigns in Atlanta for the start of the 2010 season(year after Cox retires). Have heard that from a pretty reliable source. Will be interesting to see if he pursues a job for just a year with someone else or if the Braves hire him as an assistant.
