jcs3344
Well bow season opened here sat. morning. Me and my hunting partner got in our trees with high hopes. We had a plan to kill a doe a piece and have a double bow kill. Well i saw my first deer not long on stand at about 7am. A small doe just out of spots walks 5 yards under me. The mom wasn't anywhere to be seen. I'm sure she was around somewhere keepin an eye out. We the day ending with 5 more does walking to my right to far out of bow range and in way to thick of woods to get a shot. The evening hunt started with pouring sweat and a completely wet tshirt once done climbing the tree. Saw my first deer at 80 yards cross the old logging road im hunt, just a barely out of bow rang:D.. once she crosses the road i get out my primos doe bleat to try and call her in to range. I hit it a few times and she turns towards me, i grab my bow and stand. Once i do this i catch movement to the right walking through the hardwoods, i saw horns, BUCK ! i turn and look, 4 pointer, i quickly turn my attention back to the doe that has seemed to disappeared. She had to walk down the hill. I sit back down thinking that my chance for an opening day kill just walked down the hill. About 30 mins later i see more movment to the right. Deer !, i grab my bow and stand up. An big doe steps out at 30 yards. I draw my bow and put it red pin behind the shoulder and pull. TWACK ! what a beautiful sound ! she turns and runs, of course DOWN HILL. I sit back down and text my friend that i just gigged one right in the bread basket ( TK and Mike). I wait about 20 mins and then lower my bow and backpack which by the way has my release and everything in it. As im getting my sit strapped together from climbing i hear a step right under me. Look down, buck, 8 pointer, not a shooter but still 10 yards away. All i can do is stand there and look. He just stands there looking at my lighted nock shinning from the top of my arrow. I see somethng moving behind, 6 pointer, at this time for the first time in my hunting life i am praying that i do not see a shooter in this group because my bow and pack are on the ground within 10 yards of these bucks. Overall a awesome opening day for me, saw 13 deer all together, 3 bucks and took a doe out of the heard ! I have a picture on my phone but have lost the cord to get it on here ! Once i find it ill post them ! GOOD LUCK with everyone else opening day, remember aim small miss small

turningcustomcalls
That's awsome! We just moved to NC and live in the piedemont area. I can't wait to get into the woods here and see what it's like.
