texastrophies
The photos in this link really put it in perspective.:( http://coastal.er.usgs.gov/hurricanes/ike/photo-comparisons/bolivar.html
Swamphunter
Very sad indeed..... you guys can keep your warm weather...I would rather deal with snow, ice and 30 degrees below zero...
WHISKEYSWAMP
very sad indeed... never will understand why people choose build in places where a natural disaster like this is inevitable.
wtnhunt
Those pics sure put things in perspective Jeff, think when they were showing the pics on the news from above prior to landfall that we kind of expected the Galveston bay area to be wiped out. Very sad. Will certainly keep the people effected by the devastation in our thoughts and prayers.
stevebeilgard
wow. that is some real mass destruction. mother nature sure can deal a hard blow.... is insurance even available to rebuild those homes? i rather doubt it, unless the government is involved. muggs
Wow, I'd hate to imagine having to deal with something like that. Heck, we got 50 mph winds all the way up here on Sunday from Ike and I'm without power until Friday at the earliest. I'd hate to experience what you guys went through down there. NS whitetail
very sad indeed... never will understand why people choose build in places where a natural disaster like this is inevitable. That's what I think as well, it's sad, but when you choose to build below sea level or right on the beach, not much can be done about that
