Missouri Public Land

Anyone have any advice on which Missouri conservation areas would be good for a mid October bowhunt. We're gonna be traveling there and have no idea where to start!? Have done alot of research on the web but not sure of which areas get hunted really hard and where there would be potential to kill a nice buck.

I have hunted a lot of public land in Missouri. Where about are you going to be? I would say any of the northern public lands would be great. You surely would have your best opportunity for a big buck. Don't overlook the the waterfowl areas. I saw a huge 10pt protecting a doe from another littler (still a decent one) buck while I was glassing the ducks. I would think your best bet for a really big buck is the Army Corp if Engineers land along the Missouri River. They aren't easy to hunt though. Thick vegetation and not great access makes it hard to get into those areas. If you have a boat I would focus on those areas. Good luck let us know how you do.
