cory46928
Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone has ever made a mock scrape with any kind of reaction? Wether it was good or bad, tell me about it. Cory
Jorden
I tried making some for a couple years. The first year I got some good response as the deer took them over to where I did not have to freshen them anymore. The following year I did not get as good of a response as they never really touched them until late in the pre-rut so I guess it really depends on the mood of the deer and the location. Ethan Givan
I made a couple last year and put a trail camera over it. I got several pics of decent bucks coming to the scrape but they were all at night or right at dusk. I hunted over it twice and only saw one little 6 pointer about 15 minutes before dark. I guess they kinda work.
GWSmith
I use Mock Scrapes about 90% of the time I hunt! Once a standsite is selected I place them at known distances from my tree and refresh them when I go in to hunt. Yet another reason to harvest Does...and save the full bladder during field dressing;) I've field dressed other hunters deer for them just so I can keep the supply going. wtnhunt
Have had pretty good results with mock scrapes, especially those used near community scrapes as it gets closer to the pre rut. I like to use active scrape in a scrape dripper, have had deer refreshen scrapes after I have urinated in them too.
fly
No need for mock scrapes where I hunt. The real thing always show up in the general area I hunt. I know of a hunter that used them last year and had no luck.
Born4it
Just trying them for the first time this year...heard good things about them though. It never hurts to try! Take care, Ryan

crazylegz70
for some reason I really have never thought about making a mock scrape, but I dont see what it would hurt to try....It would only take a couple minutes.....WHY NOT?
