98chevy
Me and some buddies are starting to shoot reguler. We shoot at my house becuase of my set up. We are getting more and more people and are wanting to make it fun. Does any body have any suggestions. We dont do money cuss we dont have enough to blow on that. I mean hunting already cost enough. So I was thinking maybe moving targets or something. Not real sure how to though. kinda like what realtree does on the films.
Gus
Go get some small balloons and blow them up, put one on a target and see who can hit that
toddyboman
shoot at small targets....like balloons, lifesavers, a small dot sticker or whatever else you can think of.. play 21 by shooting at cards.
GWSmith
With a proper backstop of course try shooting brad nails, pennies, old peep sights, anything small sticking into the back of a 3-D target;)
Bowtech_archer07
We set up brush around the target to make it like a real hunting situation where you have to pick your spot in a shooting lane. I also painted a tic-tac-toe board on the back of my block target. We shoot and try to get tic-tac-toe. That makes it kinda fun. We start out close and scoot back however far we feel comfortable shooting. Those are two ways we have fun. Also, I shoot at ccwhitey's and we shoot at different parts of the deer, like the eye, or ear, b/c he has a good backstop, just to help with picking a small spot and hitting that spot. Hope you can pick one or more of these ideas and have some fun!!
98chevy
We have shot the eyes out on my deer and coon. I like the baloons. Me and my closest shooting buddys shoot to shoot and always have fun. With 6-7 people its not as fun for everyone. (not everyone can hit the head of the deer.) We are planning on a big shoot next week. Where setting up lights and will probly have 10 targets total. I have the perfect yard. We shoot off my deck that about 18 ft. Our back stop is natural burm from the river rising and lowering. So our arrows just go into that. I wish i had the money to get my old set up 4 deer , 1 turkey, 1 fox,1 coon, and 1 bag. That was when daddy helped pay for 3d's now i have a coon, a deer and walmart bag specials. I also like the brush idea. I set up through tree limbs but brush is cool. Thanks guys
skooba
we set up about 3 deerstands in my buddy's back yard. It makes it more realistic. We shoot at a block, a big bag, turkey and a deer. We also consume a lot of beer after we shoot and talk hunting. Just gets you pumped up that much more for opening day. turningcustomcalls
Run your mouth! When me and buddies get together we all give each other a hard time, but always in fun spirit. For us just hanging out together is always fun. We throw some food on the grill, boil some corn, potatoes, sausage, shrimp and have a good time. Born4it
My buddies and I play HORSE. Just like basketball, pick the shot, and you have to hit the dot (or a specified area). If you hit it, the next person has to hit it or they get a letter...and so on. Spell HORSE and you're out! Last one standing wins! Get creative with your shots, too! Good luck, Ryan
RangerClay
I would post this in Mutantville at AT and see what they think.
