Dawg
I think so. What about you? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,425143,00.html Regardless if he was already wounded, he still covered the grenade.
Randy
He's a hero in my book!
JDAWG
I think he shoud get it, witnesses said they saw him grab it with his arm and forensics show the grenade was under him when it went off. I think it is a shame that a mother has to fight to get what her son deserves.
Gator
Obviuosly there are mitigating circumstances surrounding this story that we will never know as to why this Marine will not recieve the CMH. I can assure you all that this award as well as the Navy Cross are well investigated before they are handed out.
stevebeilgard
there should be a full investigation, for sure. then, give the hero what he deserves if he deserves it.
wtnhunt
Witnesses saw him and the evidence shows his body took the blast, I see no reason why he should not get it.
hutchies
Hero in my book as well.
Hoosierbuck
No question he is a hero. I think between the Navy Cross and the CMH you are splitting hairs. Then again, I think they are all heroes, just for going and doing the job they signed on to do. This man is clearly in a very special class of hero, however. It's not like the NC is an insult, for heaven's sake. It is very very prestigious in its own right. I doubt he would want his family to quibble over the difference. Not the shining example of selflessness that he lived out... HB
