LifeNRA
I wear one all the time...Bow season to remain undetected as much as possible and Rifle season because...It's COLD:o Being someone who wears glasses I only have one problem wearing a facemask all the time. It is to make absolutely sure I've cooled down first, after hiking or climbing into the stand, before putting it on or my glasses fog up. Ditto! But I feel for ya on the fogged glasses, been there done that!
c_lou
When I bowhunt I wear one that I have "custom" made. It's regular netting head gear but I have shaved it down so it doesn't restrict my vision. Gun hunting I don't wear one.
Sam16
In my situation, I usually only hunt ladder stands that are 12-17 feet up. I feel like the people who get away with not wearing one are sometimes 25-30 feet up. I cant get away with that at 15 feet. Just my two cents. I feel naked without it
Dawg
I wear one while in a treestand, if I am in my box stand I don't.
Leo
It depends on the situation. If I'm in a treestand with the sun at my back, typically you don't need one. But careful looking behind you! Essentially, if the sun is shining on your face it's a good idea to wear one. It's that reflective shine especially on hot days that gives you away. In a ground blind with shoot through mesh. You absolutely don't need it in my opinion.
JimT
I always wear a mask. One day me and a buddy were duck hunting and there were some guys set up a couple hundred yards down the bog from us. One of those guys was not wearing a mask. When he turned towards us the sun glared off his face big time. He stuck out like a sore thumb. They are a pain sometimes, but are worth it I believe. Bowtech_archer07
During archery season I always wear one. During late archery, gun and Muzzleloader season, I usually wear a neck gaiter that comes up over most of my face just to keep my nose from freezing off. It's big and bulky, so when a deer is coming in, I will usually slide it down so I can feel my kisser button on my bow and not have it interfering with settling in on my gun, but I feel like if it might help, might as well have it as it's not that big of a hassle. Shaun_300
I've never worn one for anything, but after reading all these posts I might start wearing one when I bowhunt.
RangerClay
I always wear a mask. You could always put on the face paint Andrea! Just pretend it's make-up! :D
Rhino
There are very few times when I don't wear a facemask. Those few times would be limited to gun season too but only in a shooting house or something like that. I never hunt out of a treestand or bowhunt without a facemask. Not even in a ground blind either but I don't use commercial ground blinds with window nets to shoot though either like Leo was talking about. Andrea keep in mind how much editing is done on the videos and how much they want you to see the hunter's face when they put the camera on the hunter. On camera, they want you to see who the hunter is whenever possible. It wouldn't surprise me if they warned the hunter first to drop the mask before they put them on camera. I figured that was just part of videoing TV personalities. I know Scent Lok is one of their sponsers for their TV show so you won't see many of their TV shows when she doesn't have a Scent Lok face mask on even though it's pulled down out of her face at times. Haven't seen the MB XVI yet though.
Flintlock1776
Turkey season - yes Deer season - sometime yes, sometimes no. In a ground blind I use a black face mask all the time. Up in a tree stand it is 50/50 on using it or not.

kingfisherfd2
I have a 3/4 mask. It is made of spandex. Fits tight to my face, I can even feel my kisser button through it. Only part on my that isn't covered in camo is my eyes and the bridge of my nose.
Flintlock1776
50/50. In a ground blind yes; up in a tree stand usually not unless the bugs are out.
Born4it
Yep...pretty much. If it's warm during gun season I won't sometimes, but I usually have one on! I figure the more things I can do to take away opportunities for the deer to see me, the better my chances are of having the upper hand when Mr. Big comes within range. Take care, Ryan
