stcif
Hello, I am looking for a decent value in a drop away rest for my 14 year old son who is shooting a Diamond Edge at 42 pounds. I noticed a QAD drop away Ultra Rest for about 40.00. I know you get what you pay for but am wondering if anyone has any opinions on this rest. I am also thinking about a Whisker Buiscuit. His prong rest shoots fine but we don't want to have to worry about the arrow falling off the rest during a hunt. Any suggestions or opinions are appreciated. fly
I use a Whisker Buiscuit because of the arrow falling out issue. I'm also curious to hear if a particular drop-away is less prone to fall out?
mule659
I use and swear by my ripcord. Contains my arrows and is built extremely well...put them on all my bows.
Widowmaker
On my Drenalin, I have the QAD hunter which runs about 49.00 and has full containment and the ability to let down on a deer and still stays "cocked". You will love it!!
Guest IllinoisMackDaddyHunter
Have one on my Hoyt and love it. Is an awesome dependendable rest. Dont always have to spend tons on some products to get results. My ten year old son is getting one right after hunting season. Good luck and highly recommend! Guest nitroguy
octane rest I was using the whisker biscuit but didn't like all the brushes interfering with the vanes on my arrows. I switched to the octane rest with 3 separate brushes. I like it better cause the vanes don't hit the brushes on the way out.I am NOT an experienced bowhunter which is why I chose the 2 different rests. I had a hard time getting used to the arrow falling off the rest sometimes. The Octane and whisker biscuit takes that problem away.In my own opinion, And I could be wrong, but I think the whisker biscuit slows the arrow when the vanes go through the brushes. Leo
Any prong rest can be converted to a drop away. The method for doing so is tough to find online now. You might find someone who knows or perhaps you can figure it out. Must have been a patent violation because I can't find any info on it now. Gator
The QAD is an AWESOME rest. I have a TT at the moment, but am wishing I had this rest on my DXT
Born4it
Muzzy Zero Effect...can't go wrong. You almost have to turn the bow upside down to let the arrow fall out. These are the only drop-aways that don't use a string or a spring. It attaches to the cable and cable slide, so the bowstring actually forces the rest down instead of letting it fall. It's really a "pull away" rest instead of a "drop away." Good luck :-) Ryan
