c_lou
My wife and I are in the market for a new digital camera. I am thinking something in the $300 or less range. Our current camera doesn't do a very good job of taking indoor pictures, they usually turn out to dark. We(actually she) takes a lot of pictures and wants something with a higher MP. Any good suggestions?
RangerClay
I REALLY like my Cannon. This is my second one and both have worked flawlessly. Once you choose a brand. you should go to www.epinions.com . Once there type in your model for some very useful reviews.

QDMAworks4me
I have had a few Sony cameras and really like them, the nice thing about the sony cameras is they usually come with rechargable batteries and chargers. Most of the other brands that i have seen don't. They cost a little more but IMO you are getting a better product. My girlfriend and I have a 7.2 MP and a 10.2 MP right now. Both work great!! Shaun_300
Not sure weather you want a DSLR or just a regular digital. I used to have a Kodak EasyShare 12MP, got it for $260 at walmart, it took some nice pics, but it got stolen out of my truck. Dad got me a Sony a200 DSLR. It's 10.2MP and you can get different lenses for it. (DSLR are the bigger cameras where you turn the lens to zoom). I love this camera, it is a little on the bulky side but it takes GREAT pics. It's a little more expensive though, up around the $500 range.

wtnhunt
Lot of good cams in point and shoots in that price range, would also suggest looking at the reviews in the link Bill provided. If you are willing to spend a little more like mentioned above you could step up to a sony. I have a minolta camera Lou and been very happy with it, helps that it works with the lenses I had from my old minolta maxxum 35 mm camera. Sony picked up the minolta dslr's a few years ago, not too long after I bought my minolta dslr. Have not heard anything but good reviews on sony cams from point and shoots on to the dslr's. billkay
If you wanted to spend a bit more, I would think that the Canon G9 or the Nikon cam that is similar is your #1 choice. They are basically DSLR's in a point and shoot package. Both are in the 12 MP range, can shoot in RAW, and can use a secondary on/off camera flash.
