Magellan pull on snake boots

Well, I have to get a new pair of snake boots. It appears that some TSA Agent wanted mine. Stole them out of my bag on my way home from Texas. Anyone know anything about the Magellan pull on Snake boots. Good? Bad? The pair that was stolen were Rockys.

Not familiar with magellan brand, but I have had Rocky snake boots, they leaked like a sieve after the first deer season of use, and even with treating them repeatedly they still leaked and went on to get extremely uncomfortable to wear. Huge disappointment, and Rocky never replied to my messages I had for them about the boots, which totally turned me off of Rocky after having had been a long time rocky customer in the past(had owned I think 4 pairs of either hunting or work boots from Rocky), those snake boots were the last pair of Rocky brand boots I will ever buy. From looking at the reviews at cabelas my experience was not abnormal at all.

No leaks, very comfortable, and easy to slip on for my size 13 wide feet.

The only pull on (slip on) type snake boots I have are LaCrosse snake boots. I really like them and they don't leak. I mainly use them for turkey hunting and use my Rocky snake boots for summer scouting, etc. I've had the same problem with my Rocky's that William mentioned.

I think the lacross are rubber boots arent they,I have a pair of rocky snake boots with gortex and have not had any trouble with them leaking.Are the rocky boots that you guys have that leake gor tex,if so I may need to keep an eye on mine when crossing those streams.

Not sure about Magellans. I have a pair of Red Head snake boots from Bass Pro. They have the zipper up the inside, and they are gortex. Very comfortable and they dont leak at all.

Pretty sure the ones I had were gore tex snake boots. The initial leaking started around where the sole meets, the boots would get totally saturated inside walking through wet grass. They were comfortable before they started leaking, but after they began leaking they got more and more uncomfortable to wear. Wet socks and the lining made for difficulty in removing the boots and the lining inside of the boots eventually ended up pulling apart while trying to get the boots off which basically rendered the boots useless.

Being that they were supposed to have been waterproof and were not, leaves me thinking I was really glad I never found out first hand if they were really snake proof or not.

Snake boots

I have a pair or Rocky. Yes they leak... use a pair of tall rubber boots when water can be a problem. They are equal protection from teeth penetrating. I have lost items on some of my trips traveling. Always get the note they where in my luggage.

Well, I went with the Magellan Pull ons. Academy had them on sale for $59.95. They feel a lot better than the Rockys did. So I guess the TSA A**hole who stole my Rockys did me a favor.

I bought a pair of the magellan boots when I was in texas hunting for antlers, I love them, they are very high on the leg, very comfortable and waterproof, I have had them in over a foot of water and not one drop of water inside. I love the boots, great value for a very good price.

Well, is seems I'm a little late on this thread, but I just want to let you know that I have been through a few different brands of snake boots and the Danner Pronghorns are my favorite. I will probably buy another pair when I wear these out, although I have been wearing TurtleSkin Snake Gaiters lately, so it will be a while. I think I prefer the gaiters as they are lighter, cooler, and more comfortable if you buy a good pair.
