Jeramie
Tulsa built a new arena. It was finished this year. The opening act was the Eagles a month or so ago. Kenny Chesney and his tour has already played there along with the American Idol Tour and many others. At first everyone was very skeptical. Those doubts are now fading. Some of the tickets are a little to expensive (such as Lil Wayne, who would pay for that anyway) while others really arent that bad. We have already bought three sets of tickets. Barnum and Bailey, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Cirque De Solil! Other acts on the roster: Casting Crowns, Globetrotters, Metallica, Staind (With Seether and Poppa Roach), Janet Jackson, Celine Dion, Nine Inch Nails, The Eagles (first show sold out), Jeff Dunham, Rascall Flats and Taylor Swift (tomorrow night), Neil Diamond, NBA Games, Celtic Thunder, So You Think You Can Dance, Lipizzaner Stallions, Radio-City Christmas spectacular, Carrie Underwood, 2008 Tour of Gymnastics Superstars, Joyce Meyer, etc. This week there was a motovational siminar with Rudolph Julianie (sp?), Joe Montana, and other big names. This thing has really blown up! Sadly I think its going to keep me broke..... Its already doing great things for Tulsa. You can check it out and get the lineups here... http://bokcenter.com/

slugshooter
Sounds like the arena in Tulsa is getting used for what it's supposed to be used for. When I was living in Fayetteville, they built what is now called the "Bubba Dome." Basically, tax dollars were used to build the Crown Coliseum, which is a beautiful arena. It was finished in 97 I think when I was still in the Air Force. The first show there was Reba McEntire and Brooks and Dunn. It has never lived up to its potential though. They would bring in some acts every now and then but nothing like what Tulsa has on its lineup. Maybe one good show a year there at best. They have the minor league hockey team in there. They have had two different teams in there, as well as two different indoor football leagues. From memory, they have had the Reba and B&D show, Kid Rock, Brad Paisley, Elton John, Hank Williams Jr. , Alan Jackson, The Gaither Homecoming concerts (Don't play there anymore though) This is over the span of 10 years though. Oh, and WWE wrestling, and Barnum and Bailey. The only sellouts were WWE wrestling and the Gaither shows. Elton John was a close sellout. It sounds like Tulsa has a lineup in one year that it has taken Fayetteville 10+ years to put together.
Jeramie
From what im hearing we Tulsa has been picked as a prime "Center" Location. That is the biggest reason the City is getting some of the Big names. They can stop in for a couple of nights on their way through and put some extra cash in their accounts. Im glad to see it. I may have never seen Trans-Siberian or Cirque otherwise.
