Grizz
Need some advice. I recently received a 12 gauge, pump action from my Dad, which he has had for more than 20 years. When he had it he had used some camo tape to cover the stock and the pump b/c the wood was very glossy and we all know that doesn't work well when hunting for turkey, lol. Now that I have it I want to remove the tape and get a better form of protection for the wood stock and pump. My problem is the tape is leaving behind some ridiculously sticky mess and I have no clue how to safely get that off without ruining the beautiful finish on the wood. Do any of you know of anything out there that I could use to get the sticky, glue like stuff off the stock and pump without damaging the finish on the wood? I was thinking WD-40, but don't want to try anything until I'm 100% sure it wont affect the finish.
whitetailhunter32210
try Goo gone. You can get it at walmart. It comes in a little bottle, It has all natural ingredients, contains no harsh chemicals, works wonders and will not hurt the wood

I've been wanting to get out and do some dove hunting, but with the pump and stock being all sticky I don't even want to touch the gun right now, lol. Grizz
Yep, so far so good, thanks. It's taking a bit longer than I originally thought, but the finish on the wood is looking beautiful. I appreciate the recommendation. whitetailhunter32210
no problem, Its the best product Ive found that will not hurt the base material you are working on. I do alot of furniture refinishing and it will remove just about anything with a little elbow grease
