MadHuntinPastor
Re: Sunday Hunting [ QUOTE ] I'm definitely for Sunday hunting. I would be out there in a second and...almost was ONCE before someone made me aware that it wasn't legal. [/ QUOTE ] I wonder who that someone was????? MadHuntinPastor
Re: Sunday Hunting [ QUOTE ] This year I explained this very idea of how I give thanks to God for everything we encounter to my 8 year old daughter after we got in the blind the first time we went out, she closed her eyes as did I and silently prayed to herself for a moment. Brought tears of joy to my eyes. [/ QUOTE ] That is awesome!! My boy is almost 3 months and I already can't wait to do the same with him. Way to go! stevebeilgard
Re: Sunday Hunting i never get closer to god than when i'm out hunting.... and i've never failed to thank him for the opportunity to be there, and kill one of his majestic creations. as for those who want to walk the woods and enjoy nature, they have 11 more months to do that than i do. Norm Sauceman
Re: Sunday Hunting Funny thing too...Sunday is not the only day considered sabbath to some religons.... ...and like some said...I have never been closer to God than sitting in my tree when the sun starts to appear through the slightly foggy woods and the soft cool breeze comes across my face and the woods start to come alive... If you sit out there and say there is no God.. I just don't get it. I wonder if it is discrimatory for folks whos religon the sabbath is on a Saturday to not let them hunt on Sunday... [/ QUOTE ] Hmmmm....makes you wonder Most Theologians DO think that the Christian/Jewish Sabbath is on Saturday. So that just messes everything up. OK! Everyone stop going to church on Sundays and hunt whenever!!! JK Of course Happy Hunting!! PS to HARVDOG....You are one of my deacons so you better not be so eager to hunt on Sunday!!! slugshooter
Re: Sunday Hunting Yes, the Jewish sabbath is observed on a Saturday, but any person of the Jewish faith that I have met does not believe in hunting, so , they really wouldn't have to worry about it. Norm Sauceman
Re: Sunday Hunting WHat about 7th day Adventists, they are not of Jewish faith..but I have some friends that are who do hunt...as well as the 7th Day. I am sure, if they wanted to, they could fuss about it..in the states that do not allow Sunday hunting, they woudl be out of luck except for the weekdays unless they broke their sabbath...huh. Shaun_300
Re: Sunday Hunting Here in Ontario, there is only like 3 counties that allow hunting on sundays across the WHOLE province. this is a big province and there are a lot of counties. LUCKILY i live in Renfrew County, which allows sunday hunting. i used to go to school 5 days a week in High School, so i always enjoyed hunting on saturday and sunday. dont get me wrong, i am catholic, and we believe that sunday is a day of rest too, but how many people do you see not doing anything on sundays? most people work 5 or 6 days a week, so we should be able to enjoy our 1 or 2 days off...... that's my 2 cents. Like i always say the province doesn't end at Barrie despite what most southern Ontarions think.

Tominator
Re: Sunday Hunting We recently have been allowed to hunt here in Ohio on Sundays, and I love it. I never understood that law and lands in the "blue law" book as far as I'm concerned. I'll freely admit that I've held church 20 feet up a tree more than a few times, and if other people want to walk in parks that's fine with me too, but they have 9 months out of the year to do that. I only think it's fair that the people who bought and maintain those parks (read, hunters) should be able to use it just as much as the next guy. slugshooter
Re: Sunday Hunting One thing about the no Sunday deal here is that the public lands would most likely not change the rules as far as when you could hunt, the area I hunt is a 3 day a week area, now, Fort Bragg on the other hand is open on Sunday's seeing as how it's federal land, I am a big believer though in land owners being able to do whatever they want on their own land without any interference. wtnhunt
Re: Sunday Hunting Norm made some great points in that not every religion views Sunday as the sabbath. Dont think the law should keep people from hunting on Sundays.
