dogdoc
Re: bass fishin lures If i had to choose just one lure it would definetely be a soft plastic--probably a watermelon color lizard with a chartruese tail. I'm also a big fan of the new creature baits. Favorite top water is a chug bug. i love a terminator spinner bait with the Oklahoma blade. not much of a crank bait fisherman b/c i love to fish really heavy cover. todd

DSGB
Re: bass fishin lures I like soft plastics also. My favorite is a 10" worm in Red Shad. Next would be watermelon or chartreuse. I use spinnerbaits a lot too. Ditto the Chug-Bug.
hutchies
Re: bass fishin lures Any of you tried the Baby 1- made by Mann's. It is a crankbait that will only go at the deepest 1 foot. When I bass fish that is what I use most of the time.
LifeNRA
Re: bass fishin lures Very early morning, top water! Maybe some cranks to locate, then usually switch over to soft plastics. I carry a tackle store on my boat so its not a problem! LOL!!!
billkay
Re: bass fishin lures Soft plastics are always my first choice. I really like the 6" Finesse worm in camo by Berkley. Spinnerbaits are my second choice for covering water quickly. I have had a lot of luck with a "Super Rat" weedless top water bait for weed choked areas. Orion_70
Re: bass fishin lures I'm a soft plastic guy.. I'll throw worms/lizzards/craws in the thick stuff. Throw on a sluggo for others. I do love my rapala though and a good spinnerbait as a followup.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: bass fishin lures If you haven't tried the Zoom Horny Toads, you're missing it! Rig and fish it like a Fluke or Sluggo.
VABuckSlayer
Re: bass fishin lures If I could use only one bait it would be a Jig-n-pig. I like a black and blue jig with a black Zoom super chunk. My favorite bait to catch fish on is a buzzbait. I love seeing a big ol bass blow up on a buzzbait. In the early Spring when the water is still 40's-low 50's a suspending jerkbait is tied to one of my rods. When the fish start to move up looking for beds I'll start throwing lizards or baby brush hogs in shallow cover. Also work a spinnerbait as well. When the fish start moving off the beds I'll throw crankbaits at em. When they move to their summer haunts I usually throw Carolina rigged brush hogs or lizards. However I always have a rod with a jig tied on it. Doesn't matter what time of year it is. My tackle bag weighs about 100 pounds with just about everything but the kitchen sink in it. I'm ready for anything! Eric
BLH
Re: bass fishin lures I catch 75% of my fish on Watermelon and Blueberry lizards by Zoom. I can't find anything that comes close in the Carolina's. Other than that, I catch a lot on buzz baits and shad color crankbaits.
